Can I still get the dining plan with my annual pass? How does this work? Thanks!

-- Florida residents and Annual Passholders will probably find that the Disney Dining Experience card would be a better deal, since to get the Dining Plan they would have to pay for a vacation package including rooms and add-on tickets they don't need.

This is what she read. We are vacation members as well, and will be using the points.

Just last week, WDW began allowing AP holders to add the dining plan to their reservation without requiring a ticket purchase. An AP reservation with dining is considered a package and is subject to all other package cancellation and booking policies.

If you are a DVC member staying on points, you can add the DDP through Member Services up to 2 days (I think) before your stay, and you pay for it when you check in. There is no ticket purchase requirement.

Do not have to buy tickets now.

What are the details of this? Does everyone in the room have to have an Annual Pass. Do you have to have an annual pass (or voucher) at reservation time? Do you have to have a room with a passholder rate??

I am booked at the Pop with an AP rate from March 3-8 I called last night to add on the dining plan and the quote was almost $300 higher than it should have been. The CM told me that in order to use the AP code for a room discount AND the meal plan it would have to be after 3-30 that before there there is no way to combine them.

That didn't seem right to me at all but I wasn't sure. In order to get the dining plan she said I would have to pay the rack rate. Ugh, no thanks!

:wave2: Hi Carol!

You have to have one adult AP at checkin. I don't know how it will really work, I don't plan on buying the Dining Plan, so I haven't tried to book it.

I don't think you MUST have a room with a passholder rate, but you CAN apply the passholder rate to the room.

I am going with my friend who does not have an AP, but I do. We will be using my parent's vacation club points.

You will be able to use the dining plan because you will be using DVC points. Your parents will have to call and add that to your reservation ahead of time and then when you check in the dining plan will have to be paid for at check in. You can not pay for that in advance, jsut when you check in. Yes both of you will be able to use the dining plan. Also, you can add tickets to your reservation and it still not be a pkg. You are just advance purchase and they will issue them upon check in. When in DVC and staying on points you will not be apart of a pkg. when adding the dining plan. I hope this helps and hope you both have a great time.

I just booked Annual Passholder w/Dining Plan May 16-25 at Pop. Certainly looking forward to our stay.

The more I think about it, if you don't have an annual pass already, then why would you need to purchase the dining plan without getting tickets.

You simply purchase a MYW package with dining plan and 1-day tickets, then upgrade to APs when you arrive.

That is exactly what we did last year. We had no problems. We were told this year that we can buy a 1 day MYW to get on the plan, and then use the 1-day towrds the AP renewal! And we can still get the DVC rate!:woohoo:

My family and I will be getting APs this summer, and then I'll use that when I go with my friend in 2009. It's still a while from now but we're really excited. She has not been to Disney in a long time and when she went she went on a budget so it will be nice for her to stay at a nice hotel and eat at nice places. Plus it will be my first time being there at 21 so I'll get to try the fancy drinks around the world lol.

The code for the annual pass rate with dining plan is ANA and for deluxe it is ANC. I would try again.;)
