Hello, I have yet to purchase the dining package when getting our tickets. Will be traveling in March and thought we might consider it this time. Can anyone tell me what there experience has been with the dining package? Are there many places to pick from and is the food good?

:woohoo:

Just back today from our 1st Disney vacation. We spent 7 nights and bought the dining plan. The selection of places to eat at is huge and the dining plan worked perfectly for us. :goodvibes

We tried the dining plan for the first time during the free dining promo in '05, and we won't go back without it. It is a great deal for our steak and seafood loving family, and will be even better this time around with the expanded snack offerings. The food is good, nearly all of the restaurants at WDW participate, and it is so much easier to have another piece of the vacation puzzle pre-paid!

Check out this link http://allearsnet.com/pl/packages07a.htm for an overview of the plan and a list of participating restaurants. They also have menus with prices, so you can figure out if the dining plan is a good deal for the way your family eats.

My husband and I were just discussing this about an hour ago. For years, we went to WDW and didn't purchase the dining plan. For our June, 2006 trip, we decided to go for it. Man oh man am I glad we did.

We paid just a little over $800. I saved all the receipts and we ate over $1,400 in food!

I really liked the fact that everything was paid for before we arrived. I liked being able to eat anywhere we wanted. I liked being able to order anything off the menu and not worry about the price. We also tried different restaurants than we normally would have gone to.

I would suggest that you go to www.disneyworld.com. In the search engine, type Magic Your Way with Dining. Click on the result. You will be able to pull up a brochure of each and every restaurant that participates in the dining plan. You won't believe how many there are. Print that out.

Then go to www.allearsnet.com. Click on Dining. Scroll down to menus. There you will find menus for all the restaurants. The prices are also shown on the menus.

Pretend you don't have a budget and you could order anything you wanted from the menu. What would you eat? Also keep in mind that with a counter service meal, your entree, dessert and non-alcoholic drink are included. With a table service meal, you will get an appetizer, entree, dessert and non-alcoholic drink. Another plus of the dining plan.....you don't have to tip. It's included with the plan.

Oh and that snack you will want to buy mid-afternoon? It's included in the dining plan too.

I can honestly say that, if budget permits, I would never go to Walt Disney World without the dining plan again!

Hope this helps, Lisa

Thank You So Much. This helps a great deal!

I agree that the plan works, I only hope the quality doesn't change, I have seen some change at some of our favorites ... we have been doing Disney for a long time as a matter of fact my children 18 & 25 have never been on vacation to any place else but Disney ... other then skying which Disney can not offer, Bilzzard Beach a close second to the feel of the slopes.... 18 yrs of vacation sometime twice a year we only wish the plan was offered way back then, enjoy!!

You're welcome. I am glad I could help. Let us know what you decided to do!

P.S. I don't think that the dining plan has hurt the quality of the WDW food. Seems to me that it is still pretty much the same. The menus change as they always have.

I purchased the dining plan last time I was at Disney in Sept 2001, and it was great back then. I had dinner at Wolf Gang Pucks full service restarurant and the quality was equal to many 3 star restaurants I have gone to in Las Vegas, Boston or NY.

I am taking my wife and daughter for her 3rd birthday in June and would not even consider not pre-purchasing the plan.

We used the dining plan in October of 2005.... and we will NEVER go back without it! My husband loves steak and seafood, so he was able to order anything he wanted without considering the price. He still talks about how well he ate on that trip.... :lmao:
