Dining Package vs Fastpass, Paint The Night and World Of Color

Hello everyone! I'm coming to Disneyland for the first time in May for my honeymoon. We were planning to book the World of Color Dining Package for Wine Country Trattoria, but with the announcement of the package for Paint the Night, does it make more sense to do the dining package for Paint the night and just try to get a fastpass for World of Color (on another night)?

Can you use Maxpass for World of Color, or do you need to go to the fastpass distribution point?

Any other recommendations on how to best see all the nighttime shows? We plan to do the Blue Bayou Fantasmic dining package also. We will be in Anaheim for 4 days.
