Dining over Christmas Week... Waste of Time?

I'm currently making Dining Reservations for the week of Christmas and Disney still hasn't released calendars/hours for December. I know park hours are always subject to change - but am I wasting my time trying to plan out at 180 Days?

We're also interested in Candlelight Processional Dining Packages which haven't been released - will availability for this package be super-limited or will they hold back dining reservations until they release the packages?

Last question - are PPO breakfasts a waste of time? When we visited over Easter, Magic Kingdom opened with Extra Magic Hours at 7AM virtually every day. I imagine they do the same thing over Christmas?

I wouldn't count on any PPO reservations staying that way. The week of Christmas is almost always one of those times when they open earlier then normal. Expect EMH at 7AM every day, just like Easter.

I would definitely make reservations. You can always cancel if the park hours start changing, but you will want ADR's that week as QS are packed.

They always hold back dining reservations until CP are released. Just keep your eye out on this forum as I'm sure you will hear very quickly when they are released.

PPO breakfasts will be a complete waste of time. Yes, the parks will open incredibly early.

I agree PPO breakfast will be a waste of time, in that you will be wasting the least busiest part of the day eating. A late breakfast might be a better option - think brunch. I would DEFINITELY make ADR'S for TS though. As the PP said, the in park QS are crazy busy.

We went for my birthday right after New Year's a couple of years ago, and I was really glad I'd made our ADRs 180 days out. I got a mixture of lunches and dinners, and it was nice to have a respite from the busy-ness of the parks. At least the week we were there, the mornings weren't super crowded, so I would choose to get as many attractions done early as possible before taking a lunch break.
