Dining Option - have to pay rack rate?

Can you get the dining option with a room discount code? I thought I read somewhere that you had to pay the standard rate to get the meal plan.

Hello, we have a pkg discount (is that what you call it) for our trip and we were able to keep the dining plan. Our package with a code I applied thanks to DIS was $50 total to move from ASMO to POFQ with the dining package and airfare and 7day hoppers for 3 people. So use your codes and have a great trip!

It depends on the specific discount code. I wanted to add the dining plan to a room only with AAA discount made directly through Disney. I had to either switch to a package made through AAA or pay rack rate for a package through Disney.

But then the Disney discount code YQE came out. I applied that to a package directly through Disney, and it ended up being cheaper than AAA's package quote! With this code my dining portion is not discounted, nor is the ticket price, but the room is.

We are AAA members.
If I book a package with AAA, can they apply a Disney code if one comes out? (sorry for getting away from restaurant discussion!)

If I can, then it would make sense to book with AAA. If not, it's really a gamble as to whether a code will come out.

It is my understanding that you can only receive the AAA discount OR a Disney code discount. I am not 100% sure, however. Can anyone confirm this?

That is true. You can not generally "stack" discounts. You get one or the other, but not both.
