My DH, DD9, and DS7 will be staying at WL September 13-20. As it will be near our Anniversary, we'd like to spend one night to ourselves without the kids. We've been considering the Yahchtsman Steakhouse or the Artist Point but they seem really fancy. We were just looking for someplace down to eath, quieter, with good food. Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

see, if you said you didn't want fancy, i would throw out choices like V&A's, cali grill, jiko, citricos and bistro de paris, and instead suggest artist point or the yachtsman...

in other words, i'm stumped...:)

(i vote to go to artist point anyway.)

If your staying near Epcot (mention of Yachtsmen Steakhouse) we always enjoy a stroll around the World Showcase, having dinner at the Flying Fish( Boardwalk)maybe a stroll on the Boardwalk.I heard Jelly Rolls (piano bar) on the BW is also fun.Never went because you could smoke in there, but I think you can't now?

Hmmm...we went to Artist Point on our honeymoon, and will go again for our 2 year anniversary this year. It is kinda dressy, though, and takes up two table credits (if you are on the Dining Plan), which with the changes to the plan isn't quite worth it (in my opinion).

How about Le Cellier? It's our favorite restaurant in Epcot, and quite cozy and romantic without being super fancy. If you make a reservation for a later time, Epcot will be empty by the time you finish, and you could take a nice quiet stroll around the showcase. :cloud9: Plus, if you are on the Dining Plan, it's only one dining credit.

I do not think of Artist Point or Yachtsman as fancy. We've eaten at both several times. In fact, I think both of these provide a moderate adult dining experience that is not too fancy but still a bit nicer and can be considered a treat. The Yachtsman offers creamed spinach as an optional side dish--nothing even remotely fancy about that.

And you can still smoke at Jellyrolls. It's not Disney operated so smoking is allowed in there (which is why we still haven't tried it).

You might want to consider the Turf Club restaurant at Saratoga Springs...very laid back and cozy.

Artist Point is expensive but not fancy. We were the only ones there who believed/followed the dress code. Lots of kids around (as opposed to say, Citricos). The servers were friendly and casual. Honestly, if I'm spending that much money on a meal, I'd kind of prefer it to be a little fancier.
