Dining offer arrival date ??

Waiting, hoping and constantly checking for free dining offer for Sept. Flights right now for the Sept holidays are 105.00 each way. So here is the ??
Can I book and pay for a day but not actually check in? This way I can book my flights now save the $$ and just pay for the room an extra day or 2. I plan to stay in the All Star Sports so while it may sound crazy it will actually will be a better $ decision.

Nope, sorry. If you book for say, Sept 1, and don't show up on Sept 1 to check in, your reservation will be cancelled.

You could make your plane reservations now and if "free dining" does come out and it doesn't line up with your dates, you could do a room-only reservation for the first night or two and then switch to your package reservation. You can pick up your package tickets a couple of days ahead of the start of your package, but you'd have a day or two of eating OOP.

Thanks! That is a good option, I appreciate the advice. Will the WDW CM help me with that or do I need to make 2 seperate reservations?

They'll be able to do it, but it will be 2 separate reservations, so you'll have to make deposits on 2 reservations. A room-only reservation requires a deposit of the first night's stay with the balance due at check-in; a package reservation requires a $200 deposit and balance due 45 days in advance. You can have the reservations linked so you shouldn't have to change rooms. We did 3 one-night-back-to-back-to-back reservations for our November trip (1st night room-only, 2nd night Premium Package, 3rd night room-only) and we didn't have to change rooms. You can "check in" for your package reservation at 7:00 AM of the day it starts, so you'd be able to start using your dining entitlements at breakfast if you wanted.
