Just back from a fantastic two weeks at Villas at Wilderness Lodge and Beach Club Villas. The dining was excellent again. We had dinner at Whispering Canyon, Citricos, Trail's End, Kona Cafe, Crystal Palace, Artist Point, Cape May Cafe, Spoodles, Flying Fish and Cellier. If anyone has any questions about our experiences there, please feel free to ask!
Two observations, however.
Cape May: with the tables crammed into the adjacent bar area and all the booths for four having ugly convention chairs crammed onto the end so they could seat 5, the buffet lines were very long. We ate at 5.30 and when we went to the dessert bar, the seafood line was right up there. I counted 23 people waiting for plates for the seafood side. The food was still very good, so the kitchen is still churning it out, but there were a lot of cranky people! Will not be returning there next trip.
Le Cellier: Wonderful food, but talk about 'cram them in'! Our table for two had 10 inches on one side and 11 inches on the other from our fellow diners. It was so cozy that we felt we were dining with the other two couples so set up (very enjoyable) conversation with them. Our server (who was very thin) kept apologising for brushing our table each time she passed by. She was really embarrassed about it, and when I teased her about how many they had crammed in she just rolled her eyes and said 'it's not my place to comment'!
Like I say, wonderful dining, but looks like they are cramming even more in. One good thing - we did not feel rushed like we have in past visits.
Anyway, feel free if you have any questions...
