Hi everyone we are heading on our first trip to WDW and I have no idea what we are doing lol. I am curious as to what everyone's choice restaurant is also do I need to book reservations in advance or can we just walk up. We are going Feb 9 - Feb 16 and there is 13 of us 7 adults and 6 kids any info you have I would love . Thanks

Better get to booking. There will be places with openings, but you may end up roaming from TS to TS trying to find something. The most popular places were booked up months ago. Also, if you can't get anything you want on a particular day, it's good to have 407-WDW-dine in your cel. Often easier to snag an ADR last minute due to cancels than a month out.

The fact that you have 13 in your party will make it tough to find restaurants with availability. I would absolutely suggest making ADRs ASAP. Also, maybe you could do a grand gathering (have to have at least 8 in your party). I would first check some menus to narrow down some choices and then check some availability.

Start reading info on www.allears.net, here and www.disney.go.com to prepare yourself.

Good luck!

And you won't be able to book online - I think the party size cut off for online booking is 10, maybe 9?

But I would never attempt a walk-up with 13 people, even at a slow time of year.

With a party of 13, you need to book over the phone with Grand Gatherings. They can help you set up your adrs, as your party is over 10 people.

Sorry I don't have the number. But as PP said, you better get on it. People have been making their ressies 5 months ago for the time you will be there.

Also take a look at the menus and familarize yourself with places so you will know what they have available.

Good luck.

Sorry still a little confused lol do we just need reservations for the fancier places or will every restaurant be full if we have to we will break up into groups to eat

You should call 407/WDW-DINE and indicate your total party size is 13. This will get you to an agent who can help make reservations for large groups. You should make reservations NOW for any restaurant that you sit down at or isn't a counter serve (like you walk up to the cash register order and carry your food back to a table).

You can find info about restaurants you will need a reservation at http://allears.net/din/dining.htm.

Come back to ask any more questions. :wizard:

Depending on where / when, walkups to Table Service locations can be almost impossible at times. If you want to sit and eat @ a restaurant, with such a big group, you have to make reservations in advance. Even with breaking up your group, you might find a place that could seat (as an example) 2 groups of 4 as a walk-up, but have no room for the rest of your party.

Not all Table Services are "fancy" - the fanciest restaurants @ Disney are called "signature". But any place that has waiter/waitress service is considered a Table Service and takes reservations 6 months in advance (there are a few exceptions to this but very few).

If you do not, you will either have to eat at counter service (fast food type) or else you may find you can get a reservation somewhere last minute by calling - but it might be a place you don't really want to eat, or else in might be somewhere that you will have to spend time getting to - a resort, a different park, Downtown Disney, etc.

That is not to say there is NO chance that you can walk up to a restaurant and be seated, even with your large group, but there is no way to predict that, and I believe it is very unlikely.

You will need ADR's for all Table Service Restaurants. You might not be able to get in at all even if you split up your group. Just a heads-up. I have seen signs at the restaurants stating no walk-ins for the whole day.
