We'll be going to the World in early May. My question is, how important is dining reservations? We're thinking of getting the Deluxe dining package, and I'm worried that we won't be hungry at the reservation times I make in advance, or oversleep and miss breakfast one day, lol. Would we be able to easily change reservation times once we get there during that time of year? Thanks for any help.

i think it's best to have the adr's made, and you could always cancel if you're not going to make it. but better safe than sorry.

Thank you for your response. If I cancelled a reservation, how likely would I be able to make a new one on the same day for a different time, during May?

We're going early May also. I can't decide which dining plan to do. My husband wants regular, my daughter wants deluxe and I want ever makes most value sense.

We were there late April/early May of this year. I know that at 3 of the places we ate - Crystal Palace, Le Cellier (dinner for both) and Chef Mickey's (late breakfast), I specifially heard the host/hostess tell people walking up that they had no availability at all. We also ate at Kona, Whispering Canyon and Wolfgang Puck - they all seemed a bit less crowded, still full. Not sure if it would have been possible to get a last-minute reservation there.

Parks were not overly crowded leading me to believe you could probably get a last minute reservation SOMEWHERE, but would it be where you want? I'd say make all the ADR's you'll think you want - space them far enough apart if you'll be doing multiple TS's in one day. If you happen to get hungry in between, you have the snacks. And if you're not so hungry, with the Deluxe plan you can use the credits and just do a Quick Service instead. Just cancel your ADR once you decide that, if you can, so that someone else can get the table!

HTH!

I would make reservations for any places that I for sure wanted to eat at and chance the rest.

I would just make the adr you never know the crowd level. We were there this past May the last week and a half of the month and it was verry crowded.

Jan, how many times have you been to WDW?

if this is your first - forget the ADR - you will want to spend most of your times in the parks.

if you have been several times - where are you staying?

disney has a wake up call - Mickey, stick (sp), Goofy - different times, different characters.

just remember that ADR are not fast - mind generally are around 2 hours (food allergies).
