I am going to Disney in Oct. without the Dining plan.We have two young daughters and do not plan on eating in the higher end sit down restaurants every night. We would like to have at least two nice sit down meals for dinner in the better disney restaurants where we dont have to feel uncomfortable with having our children with us(My girls are well behaved but they are still kids!).My question is if you had to pick 2 theme park restaurants & 2 resort restaurants to make an ADR for which would they be.Please include which resort Or theme park theyre located in and type of food served. Thanks!!

My choices for restaurants would be in theme parks:

EPCOT: Le Cellier (steaks and cheddar cheese soup)
MGM: PrimeTime Cafe (I don't think it is considered one of the higher end restaurants but IMHO has some of the best fried chicken, shakes and deserts on property)

Resort restaurants:

Polynesian Resot: Kona Cafe (good food and desserts) or Ohanas (This is a fixed menu all you can eat but they bring the food to you and the kids can get kids meals if they don't want the adult menu).
Beach Club Resort: Cape May Cafe (This is a traditional buffet...clam chowder, clams, mussels ,ribs)

If you want character meals:

MK: Crystal Place Pooh and friends (breakfast, lunch and dinner)

You can check out menus at Allears.net

With kids I'd pick places they'd enjoy. Theres always character meals but I've never cared for them much. Kids love them though.

I like Coral Reef in Epcot which is mostly sea food, very good and is family oriented.

2nd on my list is Ohanas in Polynesian. It is all you can eat of shrimp, steak, chicken, turkey, and more all grilled and brought to your table on long skewers. There are small activities for kids during dinner but no characters.

Last year, our DS (then 9) and our DGD (then 5) loved the following!

-Dinner at CRT in The Castle
-Whispering Canyon Cafe (Wilderness Lodge)
-Crystal Palace (MK)
-Chef Mickey's (Contemporary Resort)
-Le Cellier (EPCOT)

To find out just what is on the menu, check out www.allears.net They have menus from all the Disney Restaurants! :upsidedow
