We have our ADRs for R&C at 7:30 so we can see Illuminations over dessert. I understand you can do the same with Wishes when you are dining at Ohana or Chef Mickeys. Has anyone seen wishes from the Polynesian or Contemporary? What time did you get your ADR for and how early did you show up for your ADR? Did you request any special seating? Any and all help is appreciated!

Thanks,

Brian

I may be wrong but I don't think you can actually see the fireworks from Chef Mickey's windows. Maybe from the lounge just outside the restaurant?? :confused3 And of course on the observation deck upstairs. If you can, I'd love to know about it!! We have watched the fireworks (and boat / light parade across the lagoon) from Ohana's and it is one of our favorite trip memories. We made the reservation for about an hour before Wishes began, our daughter was only 5 then and we wanted to be able to eat dinner and not have her crash and burn before the fireworks even began! It was good timing for us. That was in September when the crowds aren't overly large. We always get to our dinner reservations about 15 minutes before the actual time just to get settled in and that has so far worked for us. I hope you have as great an experience as we did!

That is correct. If you are having dinner at Chef Mickey's and want to see Wishes, just walk to the other side of the 4th floor and go out on the observation deck.

I can't emphasize enough that you MIGHT NOT be able to see Illuminations from Rose and Crown; it all dpends where they seat you. You might have a blocked view from where they seat you and bear in mind that by telling the hostess you want to see Illuminations - that means nothing to her. Everyone is reading the same advice from the same books - please note that there are only a few seats at R&C where the viewing is perfect - you might have a blocked view and then be annoyed at yourself for not watching Illuminations anywhere around the lagoon like everyone else.

Thanks for the info. Do you know if there is a bar/pub on the observation deck? It would be nice to relax drink some drinks and watch the show  !

We actually have an Illuminations Cruise scheduled for the Wednesday before our R&C ressies on Friday. So if we aren’t able to get good seats we do have a backup. This will be our first time experiencing Illuminations so I wanted to make sure we had a good seat :thumbsup2 ! I do appreciate the heads up though. I also figured we would get there about an hour early and just sit at the pub until the table is ready. So hopefully if we give them more then enough time to sit us we will have a better shot.

Being that our ressie's would be for June 7th, where would we have a better shot getting a view of the fireworks?

Thanks again to EVERYONE for your help!

Like I said in my previous reply once your meal at Chef Mickey's is finished, just walk over to the other side of the 4th floor past the Sundries store and go out the doors which lead to the observation deck. You can watch Wishes from there without any problems.
