Dining for kids under 3

Is it free at WDW? The reason I ask is two-fold. You cannot purchase a dining package for kids under 3. Also, when looking at prices for character dining it lists prices for kids ages 3-11 and then adults.

When you eat at a sit down restaurant or a character meal all kids under 3 are free and they do get to order from a menu. It was wonderful taking our oldest DS his first three trips when we didn't have to pay for his food. Our trip in 2 weeks will be the first time we had to budget eating expenses for him. Now we have our newest who will be taking advantage of the free meals for the next 3 years!

They are free at all you can eat meals but if you order off a menu at other sit downs or counter service you pay.

My son haas gone twice and he won't be three until 3/06! We only paid if we ordered him a meal off the kids menu. Most times, we shared our food with him. At character meals, he was free! We love it! We are going one more time while he and my daughter are free. After that we have to start paying for his character meals. Really, the portions are usually big enough to share.

He is ONLY FREE if it is a buffet or character meal. If it's a sit down resturant like Shutters (Carribean Beach Resort) than you will either have to share a meal with him, or pay cash for his meal.

We didn't find this to be a problem at all. Our 5 yr old ate our food, we ordered for the 2 yr old. With the dining plan you get appetizer, main course and dessert plus drink. We often asked if they would split the kids one drink. At breakfast we had the refillable mug that we used for our drink and got hte kids drinks then. So, you could pick up 2 juiceboxes and bring that as the kid's drink at a sit down resturant.

Good to know. I'm taking a 2 yr old that hardly eats and a 13 year old boy that never is full!

Is it also free at Disneyland and the Disney hotel restaurants or just WDW?
