My husband and I are going to Disney for our honeymoon vacation (not really our honeymoon but he left for Iraq 9 days after we got married and just got home..he is a marine)....
We are looking to do a nice dinner, and I want a character experince maybe a princess dinner I just dont know...any advice for 22 year old adults? Thanks in advance :)

ok a good character meal would be Cinderella's castle but for lunch. At lunch you see all the princesses and the food is great. If you do dinner there you only see Cinderella in the beginning. Other good character meals for you guys would be Spirit of Aloha Dinner at Poly resort. It's on the beach and really nice. Perfect Princess Tea party at Grand Floridian was a nice atmosphere but the food was only ok.

Le Cellier in Epcot is a nice adults restaurant but not a character meal. A nice night would be dinner there then make reservations for a private boat ride during the Illuminations show. Not character meal but maybe like what your looking for.

Thank your husband for me. Need any other help just ask

I'm 22 and I'm all about character meals (although, I don't like face characters) I'd suggest for a nice dinner CRT, but the princesses aren't there. DFi went last year and did 1900 Park Fare (Cindy, Prince Charming, Step mom, and 2 Step sisters)

Norway is great for food but not that fancy it also has the princesses.

One of my favorite meals wasn't from a "Disney" restaurant but it as at Downtown Disney. It was at Wolfgang Puck's Dining Room (upstairs). It was delicious- I had the Original Veal "Wienerschnitzel" - Warm potato salad with mache salad. YUM!!

I'm very happy that you are getting to go on your Honeymoon now! Welcome back to your hubby! As a fellow Military wife whose hubby is deployed I know how wonderful that homecoming is! Enjoy!!

OOH RAH!!!!

For a nice dinner for two, head to Flying Fish, Artist Point, IL Mulino or Blue Zoo.

Have lunch or dinner at the Castle.

For characters...the food isn't so good with those meals, choose someplace great to eat, and find the characters in the parks as you go. The best character meal we have always loved is Crystal Palace in MK with Pooh and friends. (breakfast)

My favorite for character meals is breakfast. My new favorite is Cape May Cafe, it was wonderful! 'Ohana is a good second choice for breakfast. I didn't have the best experience at Chef Mickey's the last time I was there, but in previous trips I didn't have problems. I'm still rather annoyed by it, so it's not real high on my list (short story: they tried to rush us through because we were two adults.) I haven't done princesses in ages, so I can't help too much with that specifically. I'd love to try Crystal Palace in the morning before the MK opens because then you get in early before everyone else. I've been there for dinner, it's good then!

As for a nice dinner, my favorite restaurant, hands down is Jiko. Splurge, go all out, it's totally worth it.

Another vote for Jiko's or if you really want to splurge, get an ADR for Bistro De Paris in France at Epcot for about a half hour before Illuminations. Request a window table when you get there and you can watch Illuminations while you eat, and then take a romantic walk through the empty World Showcase after dinner. It is a really nice evening.

My favorite classic character meal is Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary resort for dinner, or Cape May at the Beach Club resort for breakfast.

1900 Park Fare dinner at the Grand Floridian is an entertaining face character meal with Cinderella, Prince Charming and the Step-mother and sisters.

Good luck deciding and have a wonderful trip!!

I just wanted to say have a great time, have fun and enjoy in your upcoming trip. Looking forward in hearing more from you after you came back.

Have a nice and safe trip coming. :)

My best friend is a marine - a helicopter pilot in CA right now - so your post grabbed me right away! Congratulations on getting married and I hope you have a fabulous trip.

For character meals, I think breakfast usually has the best food, as a few others have mentioned. I love Crystal Palace at the MK (with Winnie the Pooh characters) for breakfast. It's a nice atmosphere, and the food is great. If you prefer princesses, I think the restaurant in Norway has better character interaction than Cinderella's Royal Table, but eating in the castle is fun. I'd do breakfast or lunch there. 1900 Park Fare is also a gem - I love the stepsisters.

For a nice dinner, you have a lot of choices. I love Chefs de France in Epcot - very, very good food and not as expensive as a signature restaurant. If you're going all out, the food and view at California Grill is still my favorite.

Totally agree. Bistro was just wonderful, even if you can't get a table for Illuminations!

For a nice dinner I would not go to a character meal as they can be very very loud and chaotic. I suggest Cali Grill, Jiko, Tutto Italia, Flying Fish etc.

I don't know of any Princess dinners. I think Norway may have one, but that has never come across as romantic to me. I too find that the best character meals are breakfast.

My personal choice for a beautiful, romantic dinner to celebrate any ocassion would have to be Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian. Just the walk from the main building over to the restaurant is beautiful. The restaurant overlooking the lake is fantastic and if you time it right, you can catch both Wishes and the Electrical Water Pageant. It's just a beautiful place. And the food is absolutely fantastic.

Good luck! Congratulations! And thank you to both you and your husband. My sister is a veteran of the USAF and her husband is retiring from the USAF next year (but not before heading back to Iraq one more time), so I know the sacrifices you both have had to make for this country and I thank you for that. Be safe!!

I absolutely agree. Narcoossee's was fantastic. Get there early and just spend some time sitting on the benches on the porch looking out over the water. It was so peaceful! Definitely stay for Wishes as well. It's fantastic.

I'd also add the California Grille to the list. I haven't been there in 9 years, but I remember loving the food and having a great time.

As far as character meals go, our favorite is the Crystal Palace. We did CRT a few years ago, and it's worth doing, but probably only once. It's really pricey.

Enjoy your trip!!
