Has anyone eaten alone at a family style restaurant? I have the opportunity to go to Disney for 2 nights alone and was looking at maybe doing a character meal but they say they are family style and not buffet, (the ones that are buffet don't have availability at the moment). I also like Liberty Tree Tavern and would consider going there as well, but it is also family style.

Our family loves family style meals, especially character ones. It is so much easier to stay at your table and not have to worry about missing a character coming to your table because you are at the buffet. Plus, my kids are young and I have to make multiple buffet trips since they can't carry their own plates yet. You can ask for more food at any time during the meal and they are usually quick to bring it you. As long as there is something on the menu for everyone, I wouldn't pass on a character meal just because it is family style versus buffet.

To me family style is like a buffet that I don't have to get up for. Liberty tree is great. Right in the Magic Kingdom and very good food. No characters though.

1) Yes.
2) But, there was a problem.
3) When I asked someone to pass the potatos, no one was there.

Thanks for the laugh! I guess I wanted to make sure that I wouldn't look silly sitting with all those plates at my table. I'm glad others have done it.
