I am looking for information on experiences with large groups when dining. I am in the process of plotting a vacation with about 30 of close family and friends to celebrate our marriage. We decided against a wedding as we simply didn't want one. We will have a civil ceremony prior to our trip and hope to reserve a dining experience for our guests one night while we are on vacation to share our celebration at a resort/park site restaurant and have a cake made for us. I am open to any suggestions in any fashion.

We just booked the rainforest cafe for our rehearsal luncheon. Guests can pick from 3-4 meals and get chocolate cake. Came out to less than $20 per person.

Are you using Downtown Disney or Epcot? We went with a group of 13 in Oct. to the downtown Disney location and had a less than pleasing experience with them. It makes me hesitant.

We held our rehearsal dinner or 30 people a 'Ohana in the polynesian and everyone raved about it. ( it's our fav restaurant on property). The menu s set but ha something for everyone!

If you're interested in planning a private event (which can be surprisingly economical for a large group, especially if you do a dessert party rather than a full meal) I've written up a how-to guide here: http://disneytravelbabble.com/how-to/private-party/

There are also private rooms at a few of the restaurants on property, like The Wave, Victoria & Albert's, bluezoo, Il Mulino, and Shula's, plus a few restaurants that have semi-private sections, like Raglan Road and Yachtsman Steakhouse. But some of them have high-enough food and beverage minimums that you could do an IllumiNations or Fantasmic! dessert party for less.

I was just on that website not 30 seconds ago. I was just talking with my friend about other options.
