Dining Discounts

Sorry if this has been asked before. I tried using the search function, but it lacks in results IMO.

We will be taking a trip to DL in July. Are there any dining discounts available? We are WDW veterans and not familiar with the ins/outs of DL. We are DVC members, have AAA, AARP, and if cost effective one of us would buy a AP.

When you get to DL, ask one of the DVC people for a portable perks guide. This will tell you your DVC dining & shopping discounts (they change quarterly). An AP would give you 10% off most food (you could get a deluxe pass for just over $200 because of the $20 DVC discount). A Disney Visa gives you 10% off food at a few places too. Not sure about AAA.

To get the Disney Visa discount, do you just have to show the card or use the card also? We planned on using our reward card for our dining purchases, is that good enough? Anyone know?

Here are the dining discounts with AAA Diamond Card (you may have to book through AAA, though):

Catal Restaurant & UVA Bar- 10% off
Disney Dining (select locations)- 10% off
ESPN Zone- one free child's meal with purchase of adult meal
House of Blues- 20% off bill before 5pm
La Brea Bakery- 10% off purchase of $10 or more
Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria- 10% off
Rainforest Cafe- one free kids meal with purchase of adult meal
Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen- 10% off total bill
Tortilla Jo's- 10% off
Wetzel's Pretzels- buy 2 pretzels, get 3rd free

DVC will give a 10% discount at many restaurants. AAA is good for places with character dining inside the parks. APs are accepted for discounts at any food location except ODV and ice cream (Golden Horseshoe takes it for ice cream discounts, but that's because they have regular food also) and french fry places. The Disney Visa I know has a discount at Pizza Port and Rancho Del Zocalo.

Some CM's will say that you must pay with your Visa, don't give in because that is NOT accurate. Somewhere on the Disney Visa web-site it says you must SHOW your visa card to get the discount.
