Dining Discount with Disney Visa

We’ve been using the regular dining plan since we started doing big trips a few years ago. For our upcoming trip I decided to forgo the dining plan and pay out of pocket as an experiment. My kids don’t enjoy the food at most table service restaurants and for the most part, neither do I (I’m an Applebee’s/Cheesecake Factory kind of guy). My thinking is paying out of pocket will be less expensive than the dining plan due to our regular eating habits.

Anyway, when I was researching the resale vs. direct question I saw a couple of articles/posts that said the discounts you can get on dining with the Disney Visa card are almost as good as the regular DVC member discounts. Unfortunately the Disney Visa website doesn’t say anything about dining discounts. My question is, has anyone used their Disney Visa card for dining discounts and if so what was the percentage?

I guess like with most things in life, I quit too easily. There’s even a list, however short, of restaurants that give the discount. Time will tell if my hypothesis holds true. Thank you very much for doing the leg work.

I had it bookmarked to use as reference for our trip in December, so not much leg work involved today. Trying to find it initially, however, was a bit more involved.

I feel like all of the dinning discounts are not necessarily listed. This past December I did the Bon Voyage Breakfast at Trattoria al Forno at the Boardwalk and when I handed the waitress my Disney Chase Visa she said ,” Oh! You will save 10% on this meal!” I was suprised because it wasn’t a listed venue for discount on the Chase Website! I wish there was a more comprehensive list....
