I know that I have read about a discount card (?) that you can buy if you are an AP holder. We are getting married at SBP in Aug '09 and we could really use a discount for all of our family dinners. Sorry if this question has been asked a lot but when I searched it, I had over 52,000 matches and I couldn't wade my way through them. Thanks for your help!

The Tables in Wonderland card is good for 20% off food and beverage for up to 10 people I believe.

Sklarr is right.
We used two seperate ones at our rehearsal dinner since we had more than 10. So, if you need it, thats always an option.

But, keep in mind they charge an automatic 18% gratuity anytime you use the card. Which means, your bill will only save you two percent, that just includes your tip.
If you plan to eat out alot, and spend lots of money, It's worth it. If not, I would just skip it.

Thanks so much! I just looked up the info on the card since I knew the name of it. We are having several dinners before and after the wedding so this will help a lot since we have 20+ people. Did you have any problems using two cards for one table?

You will have to buy two separate cards, not just an additional card for the one account I believe.

Yes. I used mine and my moms card. They had no problems with it.

Sorry, guess I should have specified that.
But if you are doing several big dinners, it is worth it. We made our money back with the two cards for our rehearsal dinner.

Sorry to hijack, but what card are you talking about? This has peaked my interest b/c we are having a rehearsal dinner and then we will probably be doing a welcome dinner and a farewell brunch. TIA!

If you are an annual pass holder (which you will be because you get AP's with your wedding) you can purchase the Tables in Wonderland card for $85 bucks I think (We are fl res so we get it cheaper) and it entitles you to 20% off food and beverage including alcohol at most table service restaurants.

We only had one Tables in Wonderland card from our wedding in November and we were able to use it for more then 10 people a few times. We had 16 for dinner at 'Ohana and then 22 people for breakfast at Cape May Cafe and the CM took the discount off the whole bill - not just 10 people. I know this is not what is supposed to happen but we were very lucky and had two great servers.

I actually like that they add the tip in. Of course we would tip anyway but I hate figuring it out and this way you know it correct.

Tables in Wonderland costs $60 for AP holders.

The break-even point is $325 (i.e., if you will use it on at least $325 worth of food and beverages, you will recoup your cost, and anything you spend beyond that will be at a savings).

I am in FL and a passholder. I bought mine in August of 2008 and it was $85. When you renew, if you renew before the expiration date, the fee is $65.

We will be using ours for our reception lunch and honeymoon meals. A bonus is that it is good at POP Century and FlameTree BBQ in AK, so we save $ there too.

I have found the card to be a better deal than paying for DDP. Free DDP is great, but when it's not we use the card.

I bought our TIW card for $60 in November. We're both AP holders and FL residents - it was $85 for FL residents and $60 for AP holders. However, when you renew your TIW card as a FL resident, you do get a discount (very much like renewing your AP - I believe it goes down to $70).

IMO...it's so worth it! We're not much for counter service and we do like ourselves a drink at resort bars and sit down dinners, so it's definitely for us. If you're planning a couple large dinners for you and your guests, it should be worth it you. If you're just looking to buy it to save on one or two dinners for you both and nothing else, it won't be worth it, IMO.

(I'm trying to figure out if we should get two cards...)

So do the above posts mean that you have to have two entirely separate cards in order to be able to use two cards for 10+ people?

You can't have the $60 card plus the $25 spouse card? You would need two separate $60 cards to be able to use both?

I've read that only one discount card can be used per table... so do they split the bills up for you to get around this?

TIA!! :thumbsup2

This is the first I have heard about this card so I am trying to understand it. Is it only good for when you have more than 10+ people eating a meal or good for any meal at any time for any number of people?

No, it is good for the cardholder and up to 9 guests. My paper (revised 9/18/08) states:

We issue one primary card (valid for the card holder and up to 9 guests) and 1 spouse card at an additional charge. Both members must live at the same address and be at least 21 years of age. Resort valet service is complimentary to members and is extended to only one vehicle per membership card. A valid dining receipt must be presented at the valet stand upon retrieving your vehicle. TIW members will receive complimentary parking at all WDW Resort Theme parks after 5pm daily by showing their membership card. Effective January 1, 2008, an 18% gratuity will be added to all transactions regardless of party size.

It is good at most (if not all) TS restaurants, plus POP and FlameTree counter service. 20% off all food and beverage. Certain restrictions apply during Holidays and special events. Cannot be used with any other discount and not valid for Fantasmic Dinner Packages, Food and Wine Festival Dinners, or Candlelight Packages.

Some people have reported being able to use theirs for a discount on an entire bill even when they had more than 10 people. But according to allears.net, you can only use one card per table, so it seems like getting the $25 spouse card would not help. I think it's more for Florida residents, who might dine out at WDW frequently and not always as a couple.

The only time I ever used ours for more than just us, we were told that in order to get the discount for up to 10 people, they had to all be on the same check - which doesn't work so hot if you're going dutch.

Thank you both for the clarification. :goodvibes I will have to check it out, it might be worth it for our honeymoon and wedding events.

Does anyone know if you can use this discount for private dining, such as a rehearsal lunch at the California Grill in a private room for example? The minimum is $1,000 for this so would you really only be paying a min of $800 or would you still need to spend the $1,000 after the discount is applied? Or does it not apply to these kind of events? Thanks!
