Dining decisions - so indecisive.

My DH is zero help, and my DD says “YES!” to everything. Need help making decisions. Thoughts on the following? Fwiw, we have not eaten at any restaurant listed below.

(1) HoopDeeDo or Jiko? (Background, we are saying at AKL, and I am debating HDDR our arrival day. Or sticking around and just hitting Jiko. We have never eaten at either)

(2) Dinner at Jiko or Yachtsman or Chefs de France? (Our Epcot night we are calling it a night early due to 3am start for RunDisney the next morning. If we do HDDR above we’ll be doing Jiko. If we do Jiko on arrival, we’re debating Yachtsman or Chef de France)

(3) brunch at Cali Grill or Narcossee? (We are having dinner at Cali Grill the night before, and will not be returning to CG for the fireworks if we do brunch there)

(4) Breakfast at Boma or Kona Cafe? We are doing EMH (for non-FoP rides) at AK our last day, then we were going to Kona Cafe for a late breakfast before hitting MK for the rest of the day well.... I had read about bad changes to Kona Cafe, and since we’re not eating Boma Breakfast during our trip, I was debating either going back to AKL after AK, then going to MK. Or we could skip EMH and have breakfast before going to AK for our 9:30 FoP FP+.

Does any of this make sense? I’m indecisive, and my husband is zero help.


Edit - swapping out HDDR for Jiko. My DD requests Teppan Edo in exchange for her lost HDDR, so we’re thinking maybe that instead of Yachtsman. Going to do Narcoossee unless I can find an ADR for CG. It’s booked now . Dropping Kona for Boma @11am after AK EMH

If you are flying I would not do hddr on arrival day. If you have flight issues it could be an expensive delay

I recently read an awesome review of CG brunch. It looked so darn good! I would not pass that up

Boma is a favorite. I would pick that also

When I'm staying at a nice resort, I always try to prioritize the offerings there. So I would go with Jiko and Boma.

1) Jiko. Better food and for what Pumbaa said, any flight delay and it could be an expensive delay with HDDR.
2) Les Chefs (or Sanaa if you want to get back to AKL, very different from Jiko so doing both back to back wouldn't feel repetitive)
3) We are doing the CG Sunday brunch in March and are looking forward to it. I thought I read they are stopping the one at Narcoossee's.

1. Jiko. As PP noted, I would not book HDDR on an arrival day just in case you have an unforeseen delay

2. Yachtsman. We don't care for Chefs - I find the food to be overly salty

3. Cali Grill. Not a fan of Narcoosee's

4. Boma. It's far superior to Kona!

I should have mentioned that our plane lands at 9:30am. We shouldn’t have issues with HDDR then... if we do.. they really should be able to cancel us.. right? I mean... I have HDDR at 6:30p. Does this change ya’lls thoughts?

Our trip is Jan7, so Narcoossee’s is still active.

I’m trying to get CG ADRs, hopefully one will open up and I can swap.

Not really. I don't know where you are coming from but any flight issues could delay you an hour or 6. You just never know. I have had a 10 arrival turn into 6 pm. Hddr is prepaid.

After having many travel snafus over the years, as well as friends, my personal policy is nothing non refundable on arrival day. Ymmv

We are flying in from Houston. Weather is unlikely to be an issue. It is a 2 hour flight. But yeah, I should probably change that. My daughter will be sad. I managed to get her all hyped up for HDD!

Wonder if I can fit it in somewhere else?

You just never know. Once the non refundable fees or reservations came into play, we wing it. Once we arrive I check to see what is available.

I might be inclined to do it just because you won't be able to ever again. CA Grill seems to be sticking around.

What do you currently have ADRs for? If you don’t have them yet that will be a determining factor. How old is your daughter?

How early are you leaving on your EP day? Perhaps do the 4 pm HDDR that day?
