Ok.
We will be staying at GCH, where Napa Rose IS -
but I suppose DTD is close by?

Of these 2 restaurants, which would you do for dinner - price doesn't matter?

(we are a family of 4, but are kids are (fairly) well behaved, if it matters!)

PS - Is there MUCH to SEE in DTD for one nite - or would we be better off just hitting the pool, etc at GCH for one eve......? (won't be able to get into a park til the next morn)

Yes, DTD is right outside the door. We took our kids to The Jazz kitchen and it was delish!!!! Its more kid freindly then the Napa Rose. I wouldnt take my kids there. I vote for Ralph Brennens. On our first nght there, we cruised around DTD, ate at RBJK for the 4 if us it was about $120, we shopped and browsed all the stores. Id say we were there for about 3 hours. But this was our first ever disney vacation. How old are your kids? Mine were 1 and 4, so I wouldnt have put them through the Napa Rose thing.. Ive heard it can be a VERY long meal. And hionestly, a part of DTD is actually attached to the GCH!

Our kids will be almost 12 & 9 - they are used to fancy restaurants -----

but we're not really shoppers ---- don't know if that matters ----

beside eating or shopping or partying, what else would be for them us & the kids to DO at DTD?

With children that age, I say give Napa Rose a try. We had dinner scheduled there two weeks ago tonight and the menu looked so good.

Ralph Brennan's is good but I really, really wish we had dined at Napa Rose. We should have rescheduled for our last night.:sad2:

My kids are really well behaved also in restaurants but I still chose Brennans. It's louder and IMHO a much more fun environment for the kids to be in!! You can easily shop in DTD for an hour or two and still hit the pool for an hour before bed, that's how close it is!!

We ate at Jazz Kitchen with the kids (10 and 8) one night and had a great meal/great time. The next night we put them into the kids club at GCH and my husband and I ate at Napa Rose. Another great meal (although we were still full from the night before and didn't enjoy it as much). Although we didn't have our kids with us, there were plenty of children there. So I wouldn't hesitate to bring kids there.

I can't say that one meal was superior to the other. They were both outstanding. Napa Rose was a little more expensive, but the dining room was also a little nicer (not that Brennan's was bad in anyway).

I think that you should check out the menus for both and see which looks more interesting to you. Then decide.
