Dining credits

We are meeting up with friends who are in WDW at the same time as us. We are planning on meeting at Raglan Road for a meal on one evening. We are on the DDP and they are not.

Do I book the table for 8 and say only 4 of us are on the DDP and the others will pay OOP? Or are we able to pay using 8 credits as we always end up with too many dining credits left over?

TIA

You will book a table for 8 and when you get to the rest explain 4 are on plan and 4 are not. You will not be able to use extra credits for guest not on the plan.

You can book the table for 8. The first question you are always asked by your server is "Are you on a DDP?" Just tell them who is and who isnt and they will bring you 2 checks at the end of the meal. They will scan your band to take the credits and that tells them how many there are of you.

You can not use your credits to pay for their meals - you can only use the same number as your party at each meal.

Sorry OP for asking a different question but it is on the same topic.

If I wanted to pay for me, DH and DS's counter service meal and we are all on the same package as well as my sister, her partner and her son who are on a seperate package but we are ALL on the dining plan ..... is this possible ??

The T & C's say you can only use credits for the amount of people on your booking so shouldn't be possible yet they (not so) kindly took 13 adults & 1 child off our credits yet there were only 3 adults on our account. The CM said "we don't care as long as you have the credits on the system we can use them"
Eventually I got all the credits back (and $50 room credit to appologise for the hassle)
So yes they can do it but they shouldn't.

So potentially,

If I book the table for 8 adults they may well take the payment for all of us if we suggest they do?

It makes sense to us to use them up if we can, but if they won't then we won't worry about it.

They are not supposed to take more credits than guests on the reservation.

Also with RR being a third party restaurant they are more likely to enforce the rules.

I certainly wouldn't bank on being able to pay for your friends.

If you have spare TS credits why not book a 2TS meal or show for yourselves?

We've done it numerous times in quite a few restaurants, the servers usually aren't bothered as long as the bill is paid. Just ask and if they say no you haven't lost anything.

We are spending a few days offsite at Universal and hopefully Kennedy SC. That will be 12 TS credits at lunchtimes not used, so 3 potential 2TS meals. We have decided on Hoop dee doo and Mickeys Backyard BBQ and a CRT meal, so that takes care of those.
However, there are always a couple of days where you just don't want to eat 3 times a day.

So if anyone has any more ideas?
It is our wedding anniversary at the end of our holiday, so somewhere nice that accepts 13 and 14 year olds too? DH fancies Le Cellier but we have never managed to get a ressie before.
We have been to Spirit of Aloha and Fantasmic (twice) so are looking for something different.

Le cellier is ok, I know many rave about it, in may it was pretty easy to get a ressie but I think that was due to it changing to a 2 credit.

My fav 2 credit is California grill, last twice we've been we've paid OOP! So we must really like it, I think the bill was around $180 and we didn't even have any alcoholic drinks!!

Are you on the deluxe DP then?

We like Yachtsman Steakhouse, Flying Fish and Cali Grill (but only on the DP now due to the outrageous cost of the kids meals there now). We have paid OOP for all 3 in the past and have eaten at YSH 3 times this year we love it that much :goodvibes

Ooh, HDDR is absolutely fantastic- you'll love it. We find Yachtsman Steakhouse to be brilliant if you like steak. California Grill disappointed us whilst we didn't like Flying Fish Cafe much either... And it smelt fishy ;) Le Cellier is okay but I would certainly prioritize HDDR. We have found in our experience that resort restaurants have better food than park restaurants, but park restaurants have a better setting than resort restaurants. :)

I had forgotten that we had been to California Grill, but we found the service was apalling and is the only restaurant that we have refused to leave a tip for. That was a major deal for us as we always find the service impeccable across WDW, particularly as my DD has Coeliac disease so has food allergies.

Le Cellier we have looked at reviews for and have only tried for August as that is when we go.

Yep, DH likes to have a leisurely buffet breakfast and also likes to eat out in the evening too. And obviously we want to do several 2TS credit meals and shows too, without being too restricted.
We are also staying at the Yacht Club so get the free DDP in August. It only worked out an extra £30 pppn to upgrade to the deluxe and it reduces any complications for my daughter who cannot just pick up a snack anywhere as she cannot eat wheat, rye and barley. There are only so many choc brownies a girl can eat (especially as she doesn't really like them).

What we really need is a half way house kind of plan. :)
