Dining Anxiety?

Wow. . .I am totally blown away! Thank you! I appreciate each and every thoughtful reply that followed my post.

It is good knowing that there are others who second guess their decisions and maybe waffle back and forth between ADRs. . . :)

And, I do agree with those of you who commented that for every negative complaint ('cause yeah, I do think more people complain then compliment), there are countless unread/unseen/unheard positive reviews------and not knowing the source of the complaint or the true scenario doesn't always give the most accurate account.

You all have made me feel better. There was a lot of common sense there, and how foolish of me to labor on about such nonsense. I am focusing on the positive----obviously, our trip. . .

Yes, I too, am excited to see the pizza ovens at Via Napoli---and be the first in our family to experience the new restaurant. I've always wanted to venture over to see Disney's Wilderness Lodge---so that is why I booked Whispering Canyon Cafe---an excuse to awe the lobby! The 8:05am Crystal Palace ADR was simply the luck of picking up someone's cancellation (as I recently acquired it), and will be an extra TS (OOP) for our trip----but worth it as we've never done a character meal. My husband and I spend a LOT of our World Showcase time in the UK ---love the entertainment, hard cider, & fish-n-chips-----so we are excited about trying out the Rose & Crown.

So. . .it's all good. I wish I could buy each and every one of you a Mickey Premium bar right now! Doesn't that technology exist yet? You've earned it and then some. Thank you again!!!!!

I always am kind of amused by these threads - because I used to worry so much about reviews...but I think i am the opposite to "the norm" - had I listened to the reviews I would have cancelled Tony's Town Square (one of our favorites on our last trip) and WCC (which I have been to 3 times and loved each time)...

I have been to Ohana and didn't like it, and Flying Fish was one of the worst experiences on our last trip (these are 2 of the more coveted ADRs)...

I have learned to take it all with a grain of salt and go try it myself to see what I think...

The only place I wish I had listened to the reviews on is "San Angel Inn" - YUCK!

LOL I find myself ADDING restaurants as I read reviews, but I get what you mean. I do second guess some of them. I mean how's a girl supposed to narrow the list down to 14 TS credits over 13 days!!!!

I have already cancelled 12 ressies and done 9 more and have NOT finished.

No, I never doublebook. Just change my mind Every Other Minute.

We are probably related. :surfweb:

And right now with the system down for updating, cannot change anything.

HELP! suffering from reservation changing withdrawal!!!!!!!!!!:scared1:

Just remember that for every bad review there are many many people who really enjoyed the restaurant.

And in the end, it really is just food. :)

Don't know if much more needs to be said on the subject. I just love the dining plan and have tried many restaurants I wouldn't have tried without it. :thumbsup2 I look at it this way: Disney is a wonderful place to be no matter what. Trying new things, be it restaurants or attractions is all part of the Disney experience. Instead of stressing about it, look at it as the adventure it is. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. :cool1: Have a fantastic and delicious trip! :cheer2:

In the end, you can't know ahead of time if each place will live up to whatever your expectation happens to be...
So, you did your due diligence, you picked your places and your times...now let it go! What you can be sure of is that you will have enough food to eat...so the issue of feeding yourself is taken care of. Go to Disney expecting to have a great time, but try not to create too specific a picture of what that will look like - reality rarely looks like our pictures - it's a sure wy to disappoint yourself!
Oh....and let us know how all the food was when you get back!

Wow. . .I just have got to know, am I the only one out there with dining anxiety?

Let me explain . . . (you'll probably all think I'm nuts!)

For the number of times I have been to WDW, this is the first time my husband and I have opted for the dining plan. We've always been OOP folk and did quite well that way----more QS dining with a few TS (done by walk-up no ADRs), perhaps. Carefree without worry about when we needed to be where and at what time to eat. . .blah, blah, blah

So. . .the offer came for Free Dining. Had to try it, right?

We booked long after the 180 waiting. . .so certain options were already filled. No biggie, really.

We've made ADRs for the Biergarten (2x), Les Chefs, Rose & Crown, Via Napoli, The Plaza, Crystal Palace, & Whispering Canyon Cafe. (have eaten at the Biergarten and The Plaza in the past)

Now I know that there is never a guarantee on food, service, wait time, etc. What's my anxiety about? I start reading all the reviews and comments and start second guessing my choices? I just got done reading about the WCC---and the last handful of reviews (recent ones, mind you) were dreadful. Normally, I wouldn't pay too much attention to such things. . .but this time I am. Same with Via Napoli. . . When I read someone got 'stuck' in the restaurant for over 2 hours and didn't even get to have their dessert----well, that near puts me over the edge. . . .well, not REALLY. . . (I exaggerate a bit)

Starting to think I'm going to have to ban myself from the Disboards until I get back?! (and maybe too, from checking the Disney site's reservation page to see if anything different has opened up----or if I should be considering other options. . .)

I guess we've been pretty relaxed over our last few trips----and it has been a very long time since I've felt this way about anything as far as WDW vacation planning. . . afterall, isn't the dining plan suppose to make things easier?

So. . .no, I don't really have a question here. I just wanted to vent a little. Certainly don't want to have to try and fall asleep tonight with my mind still swimming over ADRs?!

Feel free to offer up comments or tell me I need therapy. . .

You are going to be fine.. just breathe...
