Dining advise and tips needed please

We just decided we absolutely need to get away and booked a week beginning Oct. 12. I am trying to book dining and having really bad luck. I realize it is a little over a month away but do I have any hope of getting character dining for example? Are there any tricks or just keep trying? Thanks in advance for the help!!!

Just keep checking. If you don't mind investing a little money - Disney Dining Buddy is a great way to get ADR's. You pay $8 per ADR you want it to search for and it will text/e-mail you as soon as it finds an opening (you still have to log in a book it, so you have to be quick).

Is there any advantage to signing up for the dining plan? We have never done that because it seems like more than we usually eat. Is the dining buddy $8 for each ADR or overall membership? Thanks so much for the help!

At this late date, I wouldn't do the dining plan until you KNOW you have the ADRs you want and you can do the math. Otherwise, you'll more than likely leave money on the table.

I agree with Sharonabe, there is no advantage to the DDP if you can t get ADR s I have never used Disney Dining Buddy,, but from reading here I believe it is $ for each reservation you seek, and it is still up yo you to secure it once they notify you. It could be in the middle of the night when they do, I think
