New to the board but I was reading about making dinner reservations ahead of time to be sure you could actually eat there due to crowd volumn. Does that mean I need to sit down and plan now where I want to eat and call ahead before I even get there? I am hoping to be lucky and call thursday for the free dining upgrade to my vacation planned sept. 21-29. Could someone clear this up for me. You know how us "new" disney folks are, this will be the very first trip for me, hubby and daughter...I want to make it as hassle free and magic filled as possible. :cool1:

First of all.... :welcome: to the Dis!!
You'll find a wealth of info. here.

Yes, I highly recommend that you make ADR (advanced dining reservations soon.) How old is your daughter? Depending upon her age, you may want to book some character meals. They are loads of fun & a great way to meet the characters & get autographs without standing in lines.

It really is a relief once you get those ADRs made...then you know you'll have a nice place to eat each day. My family does a sit-down dinner every evening (usually a character meal). It is so relaxing after a hot day at the parks/waterparks.

Please fire away with any questions. I'm happy to suggest a few restaurants.

Yes do make you ADR's asap! I made all of mine two weeks ago, and still have not booked my package. I have to wait till thursday for free dddp!:goodvibes PM me if you need help!

Thanks for responding so quickly :goodvibes My daughter is 13, she still has more sweet kid than teenager in her at the moment :rotfl: I think she probally be concerned at time about coming off babish on some stuff but she is so excited I think once she gets there she will not care..I know I want I love all the charaters and I'm going to hug them all  We are staying at POP and the guy at the reservation # on disney site said b/c it was our first time he would put us in the 60's building to be closer to all. Is the free dining easy to use and do you have alot oc choices? Also we booked a day at discovery cove about midway during our stay for a nice break I hope, never been there either? or Seaworld...sure am sheltered aren't I? but we are breaking out now :yay: How convient is it to go maybe to a park for the 1st park of the day and maybe waterpark 2nd part of day? Is there alot of travel time? It is so nice to talk to someone about this stuff, it is a little ovewhelming, especially since I want it to be so perfect with this being the first time. Guidance is so needed and appreciated...:flower3:
