DING Install help...Please.

I'm completely lost! I can't seem to get the ding program to load. I tried several times and in between each unsuccessful time, I have completely wiped ding/southwest folders and files from my computer, dumped temporary files and trash. But still no luck. Each time I download it, install it, it comes up *unrecoverable error:unable to download DING configuration files* Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong or what to do to get ding downloaded? Thanks so much for any help!

The same thing happened to me I tried so many times with no luck. It just wouldnt work for me and when we finally got DSL I was able to download it and get it to work. GOOD luck i hope you get it to work.

I already have DSL and still no luck and I've been at it all day. I've disabled norton's, stuffit and everything else that might be messing up the download. Anyone else have any ideas why I can't get it to install? I think I need a magic wand...

My DING is also messed up! It worked wonderfully until we had a power outage 2 days ago. I have tried everything. It says that I have a "corrupt installation detected". I called SW they said to deal with my ISP (AOL), so I did. I was online with them for over 2 hours last night and nothing. Still no DING! Any DIS'ers out there with wonderful tech skills that could help someone ?????

I restored my computor back two weeks. I had the same problem and this is the only way I could get it to work again. Hope that helps!

The same thinh happened to me 2 days ago when I log in under my name I get the same message. But it works under my dhs log in wierd!!!!

Okay, so I restored my files back to a week ago. The icon came back up but now I have the red "!" and it says that there is a communication error. I right clicked and selected "connect now", but nothing...HELP!!
I am desperately waiting for a return leg in June!

thanks for suggesting the system restore, that is more help than I received from AOL's tech support over a 2 hour period!!

When I get the red!, I exit ding by right clicking on it and then go in under programs and start it back up. If that doesn't work, I completely turn off ding, shut down my comp and DSL, wait 5 minutes and start everything back up. Hope this helps

I never could get Ding to work at all. Luckily JetBlue then came to my town and I was able to be done with Ding once and for all.
