Sorry if this has been brought up before, but I searched and couldn't find it.
We are a party of 5. In the past, if I got a Ding fare, I was able to cancel my original fare and rebook all five of us on the same confirmation with the remainder of the fare going into Ticketless Travel Funds under the original confirmation/passenger name. Now I get the dreaded "Opps, there's a problem" message when trying to book the new fare.
I called SWA and was told things have changed. There is a maximum of people that can go on the confirmation since everyone gets a ticket#. The agent would be able to book 3 of us on one confirmation and 2 on another except she couldnt see the Ding fare. She was pretty stressed and didn't want to go into details on how I could rebook myself. I didn't want to try splitting things up on my own since I was afraid of screwing things up.
Can someone explain the new procedures? I appreciate the help!
On a side note (not wanting to start a SWA brouhaha, just making a general statement), what have "they" done to my beloved SWA?? I'm not talking about EBA or higher rates, just about their general customer service and computer systems? In the past you could call SWA and find the happiest most knowledgeable people around. Now because of the new systems, the hold times are ridiculous and the agents seem totally stressed. Forget trying to call the 214 customer service # - you have a better chance winning lotto than getting through. The online system seems very buggy too. Please, bring back the old ways!
