Hi, We are planning a trip to Disney World and are thinking about throwing in a day at SeaWorld. We would like to do the Dine with Shamu. In reading through these threads, I have found out that there is a splash zone. When we buy our tickets for this, or when we check in to get our meal time, can we request to be seated away from the splash zone? I know that's probably where most people want to sit, but the thought of getting splashed - or even worse, soaked - while I am trying to eat does not sound very appealing to me.

Thanks.

There is a Splash Zone of the actual Shamu show. At Dine with Shamu, you are surrounded by plexi-glass walls.

Now, as a disclaimer there are tiny slits in between plexiglass walls and we had a little bit of water come through there, but I really mean "a little bit".

Let me dig up my review and pictures for you.

Here's my review

Dine with shamu and the shamu shows with splash zone seating is two different things. The dinner does not take place during the show. During the dinner the trainers talk about the whales and show some tricks. You can totally sit up higher away from the splash zone during the show. We stay away from it too. Ice cold salt water is not fun. We have done it a few times in the past but our kids don't like it. Well a few of my kids do.

Most people want to sit "poolside" so as to see the whales better and request it (esp if it's to mark a special occasion). We're going as a belated celebration as I was in hospital for my 30th birthday. They don't guarantee where you'll be sitting but try to accommodate as many "reasonable requests" as possible. Your seat is allocated on booking though so you may have a problem getting them to switch it if you only request to sit in a certain area on the day.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I'm not sure if we will do this or not. I watched a video of this and the One Ocean show on youtube, and I think we would like just seeing the One Ocean show better.

Thanks, again.
