First off do they only take reservations a few weeks out? Secondly do you reserve your actual table or just your ticket?

Right now, it seems that they are only taking reservations a few weeks in advance instead of months in advance. But, you can also make reservations in the park the day of your visit. Seating is first come first serve. So the earliest reservations get the best seats. The longer you wait, the less chance you will get a prime seat.

Oh ok, so if I was one of the first to book then ill get one of the best table? I wont need to be first in line the day of type of thing?

We did the 5.30pm show today. It wasnt full so everyone had a front row table next to the new glass panels. Food was fantastic but it was a very rushed experience.

Check in was 5.15 followed by a photo. You then had to wait for them to open up. It was nearer 5.40 when we were seated. A server came and escorted you to your table. You could go straight to the buffet. We waited ages for drinks and finally got a beer at 5.55pm!!!!!

The show was well underway by then and was over before dinner was finished. We had dessert and by then the recorded voice was wishing us goodbye and it was 6.30pm.

Interesting. I would love to hear from others that have done Dine With Shamu recently.......just to see if this is a typical experience, or if your visit was an anomaly. We were going to add this meal to our Christmas itinerary once December dates are released, but it certainly would take away from the enjoyment to be that rushed!
