Husband was able to make a reservation for ONE for our upcoming trip but he only wants the soup and salad while I'm interested in the main course and dessert.
Is there any way we can switch out partway through the experience?
There is no way this could be accomodated. The event is held in a private room and the cost has more to do with the experience than the food. If you both want to do it you can keep trying for a second reservation but I really don't see this being allowed.

Been 3 times. I just pass on the things I don't want.
You have to have a seat reserved.....there are very few of them.
It is a great experience and worth it.
For one, I'm not sure they'd have the containers for a to-go meal...most Disney restaurants aren't really set up for that. It could be possible, though.
Second, from my understanding, Dining with an Imagineer is approximately a 2-2.5 hour ordeal. I'm not sure how good the salad would still be when he/you came out of there, and the soup would definitely be cold (which I guess you could heat it up later).
When we dined in September, the imagineer had their entree boxed up and the waiter offered it to a guest who hadn't eaten much. The soup would be tricky, but the other courses should be doable.
