Dine Out For America Day

Thursday October 11th is Dine Out For America Day. The money raised will be donated to the American Red Cross. Restaurants will be donating up to 100% of their proceeds for that day. Wait staff will be donating up to 100% of their tips. Go to the web site at www.dineoutforamerica.com to learn more about the event and the participating restaurants in your area.

I can't get into the area where it tells what restaraunts in Ct are participating.
The idea is great, and I will jump at any chance to not have to cook. I think I will keep trying. Peggie

I guess we will be going to Friendly's tonite for dinner. That seems to be the only restaurante donating 100 % of the $. The others are only dontating a portion of the $

We are going for take out from Olive Garden tonight. Only other restaurant available by us is Outback Steakhouse and every time I have ever eaten there I've felt bad afterwards. (Anyone notice how greasy that place is?) That's okay.... I could live on Olive Garden's Pasta Fagoili (sp?) soup!

We are getting together with many of our friends tonight and going to our favorite restaurant - Lee Roy Selmon's. They are donating all sales today to the Red Cross. It's an Outback Restaurant with southern comfort food... SOOO good! We are all addicted! Let's all eat well tonight!

I am taking the kids to On the Border for dinner tonight (DH is going to Yankee game). OTB is donating 100% of their profits!

Lauri, I am surprised to hear what you said about Outback. Our local Outback is excellent. We eat there often (way too much actually) and they have ordered us a boomerang with our names on it to be hung at the bar.

Just got back from a late lunch with my son at Olive Garden.
I don't know if it was the fact that we were late lunch and they had not started the evening meals yet, but the Lasagna we ordered was terrible. Very dry, and the noodles were burned. We sent it back and the second order came the same. So we switched to something easier, Spagetti and Meatballs for me and Fettuccini for my son. Again, very dry, hardly any sauce. I had to ask for more.
We had eaten there so many times and never had problems.
The idea is a great one, I just hope they are not using this as an excuse to get rid of old food. Hope everyone else has a great meal tonight. Peggie

On the Border was good! and Channel 8 news was there, but i told the kids I wouldn't be interviewed because the last time I was on Channel 8 news I received obscene phone calls!

I got an email from Outback saying that their chains were donating 100% of their sales today. Some restaurants are donating a portion, some are doing 100%.

I love Outback, and would LOVE to try a "southern comfort food" version of Outback. Where are those located?

WE went to the local Fridays - it was great to see the restaurant packed and everyone in their Red, White and Blue.

Here is hoping all the money gets to all the people that really need it.
