For those of you wondering if the "Dine in the Magic" options are worth it for you....heres my take!

We just returned yesterday from our trip of 5 days and 4 nights and we purchased the 5 day/13 options for our trip. It consisted of 1 character breakfast, 1 character dinner, 2 Breakfasts in the parks, 4 $10 tickets, 2 $15 tickets and 3 $5 tickets per person. There are a few restrictions, such as they are not valid at any DD cart or eatery, the breakfasts in the park are only good at Pacific Wharf (DCA) or Buzz's (DL), and your character dinner is good towards a dinner at Goofy's, but you will pay some out of pocket, due to the cost of a dinner there. It will cover the cost of the full dinner at Ariels, however. Lasly, no change is given. If you buy a $3 snack (if you can find a snack that cheap) and you use a $5, you just wasted $2! Also, not good on any alcohol purchases.

We loved them. If we go to WDW, we usually buy a package that includes some of our meals (silver or gold), so I was relieved to see DLR offered something of that nature. They less cash I need to deal with on a trip, the better! I expected to pay a few bucks extra with every meal to cover things, just in case, and we needed it, especially after Blue Bayou.....a $15 doesn't go to far there, even for lunch! The most important thing to remember is that you will have to plan your meals a bit ahead of time....if you are making any ressies, plan then what voucher you will use. We ended up using less than we thought in the end. We expected to spend our last $10 voucher on Sunday, our last day, but we ended up with a $15 and $5 left over, so we headed over to Storytellers for a suprise last character meal (and it was soooo good:D ) I was very happy with the "breakfast in the park" options. I was a bit concerned to what they would end up being, but at Pacific Wharf the options were eggs in a bread bowl with bacon and fruit; a bacon, egg and cheese crossiant sandwich or any combination of baked goods up to $8.75. At Buzz's, the one I was most worried about, you get a choice of eggs, potatoes, bacon or sausage and a muffin; a bacon, egg and cheese croissant sandwich; french toast or fresh fruit. The portions were HUGE and very good! Both places included your choice of beverage.

The plan worked out great for us. Granted we love to eat (and I love to plan!), but they were great. I found the eating options at DCA much more desireable than that at DL (the addition of wine and such at DCA helps;) ) but I would get them again in a heart beat! Please ask if you have any questions....I am not a DLR pro, but I can give any helpful hints on how/where to use them, etc that I learned on this trip!

By the way....favorite places we ate....
-Blue Bayou (first and last time eating a Monte Cristo....wonderful, but my god, it was a fried sandwich:p )
-Bengal Barbecue- we ate there twice we LOVED it!!!!!
-Storytellers - too bad we were so full by the last day, we only took one trip to the buffet!
-The Vineyard room....only the family area on the patio...the non-expensive side (I forget the name)...great panini style sandwiches, then we got to sit and watch the Electrical Parade from our table!

How much was the "Dine in the Magic" plan? Does everyone in the group need to purchase the plan? We will be 2 adults, a 5 year old and a 2 year old. I was thinking that it might be worth it for me and DH but not for the kids.

The adult / junior price for the 13 options is $134, but AAA takes $25 off that (not per person, but total of your party.) The childs price is $100, but they get 2 additional $5 meal vouchers, one less $10 and one less $15. According to the AAA DLR vacation book, they say that buying the package can save a family of 4 $70. However, everyone in the family must book the package. I would check with your TA to see where they include the 2 year old, if at all.

They have dining options for 3 (8 options), 4 (10 options), 5 (13 options) and 6 days (15 options.) You may consider a smaller package than recommended for your amount of days to give it a shot...that way you won't lose the value of the vouchers, and you won't be stuck with any unused ones.

Thanks for the info. It sounds like it would be a good deal for us if we don't have to buy any for the 2 year old. I'll give AAA a call.
