Dilemma

OK - promise not to laugh???

Mrs Pegasus and I have been invited to a party later in the year that is being thrown by some fellow Dissers that we have been long term friends with
Also invited are some other friends of ours (they are also on the Dis but not as often - not that that is relevant, I am just rambling to avoid getting to the point )

Anyway - this party has a theme. Pirates and Princesses.
All good so far. When we were discussing this at my DS 16th party last week as we sat around the table DW decided to point out that we already had a pirates costume.
Hurray thought I. Erm. No. This costume, she reminded me, fits her - not me. Just as I start to wonder whether it would be acceptable for us both to go as pirates someone who I once regarded as friend piped up that him and me should go as the Ugly Sisters while our DWs go as the pirates.
Unfortunately this was quite well received by other members of the group and planning started in earnest (boy do I hate being the only sober one in a group sometimes)
So my dilemma is this.
Do I pull out the Disney rule book and state categorically that the ugly sisters are not actually princesses therefore would be out of place at a party thrown for them.
Or do I just hold my hands up in defeat, throw on my prettiest ball gown and war paint and go for it.
As always my fellow Dissers - my friends - I know you will steer me in the right direction

Technically (although not by blood) the ugly sisters are related to Cinderella who is Disney Therefore I don't think you have a valid excuse

Not sure tinkerbell counts as a princess, but I'm guessing he'd look very fetching in a purple bikini top and long green skirt to look like Ariel's tail

would you be comfortable pulling off the ugly sister??
if you aren't going to be comfortable then you aren't going to have a good time then why go & be sad & wishing you weren't there

I wore something to make someone else happy before - I just wished the night would end & hoped no one would take a picture of me - I don't want to be reminded of that night. This sounds like something that should be fun so if you can have a fun time doing this then go for it if not find a pirate costume ASAP

Ugly sister would not have to behave like a princess. At least you could enjoy the evening You have to behave appropriately to fit into the role of the character for max effect of the costume.

No pressure and I assure no pictures will be published. The local press have been tipped off but cannot see them turning up.
You come as you see fit I have several changes planned by my good lady, also one of those silly dances which I have agreed to as long as she gets you and mrs Pegasus to join in with the prince charming section as you are a natural.

Well I say go for it......you'll have a laugh....or give others a laugh

and just on a technicality.....Disney do not call Anistasia and Drisella 'Ugly Sisters'....they are always refered to as the 'Step Sisters'.....DD6 thought they were great when we saw them at 1900PF and would not alow anyone to call then Ugly
