I am just starting to plan trip number 8. I am torn between booking my favourite hotel HNY or trying out the golden forest club at Sequoia. There's only £20 of difference. I am thinking March time, hot breakfast and closer to the parks.. Versus fast passes, separate breakfast and new rooms.. Anyone got any ideas??:confused3

Hi,

Went through a similar dilemma recently and opted for HNY.

I really didn't see anything in the GF "package" that attractive me to it.
The idea that you could have afternoon snacks/drinks seemed to be a nice idea, but I very much doubted that we would ever have used it - instead remaining in one of the parks.

So in the end opted for HNY for the free wireless and hot breakfast option (my oldest doesn't really like the continental breakfast offerings, and also we are talking about December).

I agree. I love SL but would not pay extra for Golden Forest. The rooms are almost the same as normal ones, breakfast is the same and to be honest the queue to meet characters is never that long and it is the same characters that everyone can meet that come round to the GF breakfast room.
We are staying Castle Club in october and will really make use of the free drinks all day plus afternoon tea, but I know we would not be bothered to walk all the way back to SL for the same. One extra fast pass would also not sway it for me. You may even be able to pay for a Vip fastpass (60 euros) for everyone for one day, for less then the price difference between a normal or GF room so that would not sway me either.

I think if you are sure you would go back to the hotel in the afternooon for the drinks and afternoon tea, you may get your money's worth, but otherwise I would go for a normal room in SL or in the NY (or DLh of course if budget allows lol)

Thanks for your advice! I have just booked 4 nights in HNY for 17/3 - 14/3/14. Although I like Sequoia Lodge I just couldn't bring myself to pay more to stay there than HNY. I guess I need to get a new ticker!
