I had already planned a trip for DD14 and myself May 2011. It so happens FD is now being offered beginning on our arrival date. I had already booked a room only ressie at POP. I had also intended to purchase the DxDP.

The dilemma is now that we are offered FD (QSDP for the values) and I had already intended to purchase the DXDP anyway, so now I will just need to pay the upgrade cost from QSDP to DXDP. OR.. I could change our ressie to a moderate (been eyeing POR) and pay the difference from DDP to DXDP. I know it still would probably be a few dollars more cost but I just can't figure out if it's worth the upgrade since it's just the two of us anyway. We loved POP the last time we stayed there but was just wondering if I wanted to broaden our horizons and try POR this go around for a few dollars more. It shouldn't be very much cost difference, especially when I originally planned to purchase the DXDP anyway but my brain isn't letting me do all the math at the moment. :lmao:

Anyone else ever had the dilemma of whether to go ahead and spend the few dollars just to try a new hotel? It will be a great vacation for us either way, but DD14 loves going to the pool and I have heard the mod pools are so much nicer.

Depending on when in May (and with different weekday/weekend rates), upgrading from Pop to POR would be $60-$80 more per night for standard rooms. The free dining savings for 2 "adults" would be $22/night more at POR.

So you'd be paying a minimum of $38/night more to stay at POR.

Can't help you make a decision, but I can do math. :thumbsup2

Yeah I thought it would be some where around $40/night (We're going May 27 - June 4) but with the fact I was originally intending to pay for the DXDP at a value ANYWAY before I found out FD was being offered, I'm wondering if it's going to be that much of a difference from my original intentions or if I should be grateful for the savings and stay at POP and spend the money I was planning on something else. (DD is seriously wanting to try a day at Universal for HP while we are there).
