we are due to go to florida on tuesday!! :cheer2:

we are thinking about buying a digital camera but are unsure if we should wait until we are over there before we get there?

does anyone have an idea which is best?

Hi!

I waited and bought one over in walmart, it was well over 100 pounds cheaper there. also it would be covered by the walmart-asda guarantee.

I bought mine over here but i suppose it does'nt really matter as wherever you are (Florida or England) it should be pretty easy to buy one..

I was over in North Carolina a couple of months ago and found that the price of a Digital Camera from a uk Internet site was about the same as Better Buys in the US. Sales tax in NC is about 8%, I don't know Florida's sales tax.

In fact alot of small electronic items are the same price either side of the atlantic, I think things like e-bay have forced the prices down here.

Do a search in google.com to find out the US and UK prices of the cameras you're interested in.

Good Luck Bargin Hunting.

Hi Emmablade, Welcome to the boards, these guys are soooooooo helpful. We went toWDW last April/May and my Son bought a Gameboy Advanced SP which was much cheaper than over here. As a general rule of thumb, we found a lot of the electrical items in Florida to be cheaper than in the UK but it's worth checking online if poss. Try Walmart vs Dixons/Currys/Comet for example.

Also, don't forget you will need to but a voltage converter to use your electrical item in this country. Your digi camera will probably need to re-charge it's battery every now and then. Converters (US to UK) are readily available in this country.

Enjoy your trip.
