Digital Voice Recorders

Hey all,

This year I am planning to buy a digital voice recorder for my lecture classes (hopefully I can retain more and get my GPA where it needs to be) anyway I am looking to buy one before fall semester which starts in August. This also has an added bonus - I can bring it to my October trip and make my own WDW CD . What I am wondering is if anyone else owns one of these and can give me a reccomendation of what to buy or what not to buy both for lectures and for WDW. I of course would be happy to forward any of my "music" on to those who would want here too.

I got a mp3 player with voice recorder for christmas and I took it down in May to record my favorite disney sounds. When I could put the player near a speaker, it was ok. If I was recording during a show, I picked up lots of other sounds that distracted from the main theme.
Of course, it could entirely depend on how good of a recorder you end up buying.
There are some really good websites that have the recordings you probably want. My favorites are mouseinfo.com and mousegeeks.com and there is always live365.

Digital Voice Recorders (and their microphones) are not designed for recording high-quality music.
They are OK for recording lectures, but I think you'll be less than happy with the recordings you'll get at WDW.

"Bootleg" recordings made "live" in a show are not great, regardless of the recording gear (usually at least STEREO), but attempting to do this with a small mono DVR is not of much value at all.

Disney sells wonderful CDs of the music and other recorded material you hear in the parks. I highly recommend them.
