Here is my layout from the Speed Scrap tonight.

I'm really pleased how this one turned out.

Boy, y'all do such wonderful work, it's almost embarrassing for me to post my stuff here. Britt, your LO is simply wonderful! You've caught the feelings so perfectly. And Pooh, I love your Lady Liberty LO! I really like the way you've got the picture behind the picture thing going on. Yzer, that eternal flame LO is so striking.

I haven't done a whole lot lately. I'm in a few stores now and having a hard time keeping up with the requirements and getting new kits made and such. Britt, how do you do it and still stay so active???? LOL Anyway, I made something in response to the Ad Challenge over at Digi Scrap Station the other day. Basically, the challenge is that they show you an full page print ad and you're to take something from it for inspiration. I basically took the layout of the ad and used it as something of a template becuase I really liked how it all worked together. So I made this with it. No credits for this becuase it's so simple (just color and texture and pictures I took plus the one pic of Mickey and Goofy that I snagged from the web somewhere using a google image search). I'm rather pleased with how it turned out. It's not a scrap page or anything, but I like how it ended up. It really kind of made itself.

Here are the layotus I did using Britt's new kit, Motor Mania. Awesome kit!!! She has a freebie on her blog as well. :)

A Wild Ride - Mr. Toad's Wild Ride at Disneyland

Nice LOs. It always amazes me how far those Bronner signs go, we saw them enroute to Disney in June... in Georgia I think. Have you been there? We went once a few years ago and have ordered online since then.

Thanks! I have been to Bronner's many times since it's not far from where we live. In fact I think the plan is to take our parent's there next month for their 35th anniversary. They love Frankenmuth, but haven't been in a while. I know there is a Bronner's sign on I-75 North in Florida if you are coming back from Orlando. They definitely are all over! :)

We have a dear young friend that just turned 6. I made her a card for her birthday and told her I took her card to WDW 2 weeks ago and had the princesses sign it for her, she was so thrilled that the princesses knew it was her birthday! Of course they were actually old sigs that I added, luckily Jasmine wished Sam (my son) a happy birthday, but I had to cut his name out!

The purple bg is my own, the castle, coach and flowers are from Cinders Wish and I extracted the princesses from stickers I scanned in and the sigs were gotten at CRT mostly!

So cute Fran!! What a sweetie you are to do that for her!

Here's a new page for today!!!

"We Met Lightning and Mater"

You can't really tell from their expressions but our nephews were seriously THRILLED to meet Mater and Lightning. You may notice they are even wearing Cars shirts. The little one just kept staring at Lightning like he couldn't believe he was real! It was adorable!!

Great layouts everyone!

Britt, I LOVE the new kit. My kids had a Cars party one year and I haven't scrapped those pics yet. I have so many pics that it will work for like Indy Speedway, Lights, Motors, Action!, road trips, and go-cart pics!! Such a versatile kit! Yeah! :thumbsup2

Here is the one I got done tonight. Its from our visit to the National Civil War Medicine museum in Frederick, MD. Its a pretty cool museum, though there are some pretty graphic items. The photos are scans of postcards since they don't allow photography. When we went the girl working at the desk was listening to music and my sister and I recogonized it right off the bat: Pirates!!! That was pretty cool.

I need opinions on the next one. I like it as is, but I'm not sure if I should add anything to do. I really wanted to keep it simple so the photo can have the greatest impact.

Last Witnesses - The photo is a scan of a postcard from the Holocaust Museum. I scanned it back in 2004 with the old scanner so I really don't want to make the image much bigger for fear of it getting blurry and pixelated. The words are also from the postcard. As previously stated, this is the room that always gets to me. I can't walk through that portion of the tour without crying. It definitely makes it all real how many people were killed.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I like it the way it is Melissa, it conveys just the right feeling. Beautiful work as always.

Melissa, that is such a powerful LO just as it is. In my opinion, it doesn't need anything added. Beautiful job.

Melissa, those pages are phenomenal. The Witness page actually made me cry, and the Civil War title gave me goosebumps. Keep up the great work, I can't wait to see more.

Here's what I just did for the Saturday Special at Scrap Matters:

Melissa - again, I'm loving your layouts. The ones of the Holocaust Museum are fantastic. That is my favorite museum of all time (as far as building design & layout, displays, information, etc.) but once was enough. It really is something that everyone should go to at least once - and plan on spending a whole day there, too!

Melissa, the shoe page is perfect the way it is; powerful. Love all of your travel pages.

I'm not sure about this page; should I add more embellishments? So many of you seem to be able to layer so nicely, haven't quite got that to work for me sometimes.

eta: Thanks for the feedback I made a few changes and added some neat word art from Dielle (very timely freebie - thanks for that link Christy). Posted new version of the page.

Janette, I think it's pretty. I wanted to let you know you have the corners of your pic showing behind/above the frame in the first and second picture.

Hi there! I've been lurking here for a while now, and I wanted to say that everyone's LO's are just beautiful. I am trying to stop collecting kits and actually get some scrapping done! Thanks to everyone for the great inspiration!

Welcome! Please DO join in the fun! :goodvibes "Collecting" is the first step in the addiction though... LOL! We've all been there!

Melissa -- Gorgeous, somber, meaningful LOs... wow ... so amazing!

Quiltymom -- Fun summer LO... your title is REALLY cute!

Janette -- Such a gorgeous page. I have never used that rainbow paper from the Sprite kit, but I think it is so darn cute. I think the rainbow is such a stunning embellishment.... I don't think you need much more. You could try enlarging the title a little and maybe mixing the fonts (or use one font and one alpha or something) if you want to add a little something else to the page... but I think it's great the way it is. :goodvibes

I've been having fun taking pics at DS's soccer game. My BIL let me borrow his SLR camera (Nikon D50) so I could play around and see if I like it... I am thinking of "taking the plunge" and getting one....or maybe just not giving his back! LOL!

Very cute Christy; it's really easy to catch action shots with an SLR prefect for soccer. I'd love to have one but don't take enough pictures to justify it.

Christy too cute! It makes me feel nostalgic, I was team mom for Tiana's team for five and half years. Your pics came out fab. What lens did you use? Take the plunge, you know you want too! I'm currently thinking of selling my D40 because I want the D90 so bad.
