Great pages Chris!!!! We didn't make it to the Garden Grill last trip but I do hope to dine their in January...

Chris, the Garden Grill layout is cute! We are going there for my Ds's 2nd birthday this year, I can't wait. I love that Josh and daddy pic too. I love picture of just my 'boys'. :goodvibes

Renysmom, Cute! The new office looks great. I love how you set up around the TV. I have a poodle named Piper, although everyone thinks her name should have been Hyper. :)

I have not been scrapbooking lately. We are changing things in my house though so I will be able to get on my computer more. Our game room is changing into a craft area for me and Ds and my office. Ds can color or watch TV and I can craft, sew, or scrapbook. :cool1:

OMG, I just started looking at a few pages in this thread, and these are awesome!! I want to try!!

Hey scrapper girls I need you opinion on a SLR camera. I am looking into purchasing either the Canon Rebel XTi or the Sony alpha 100. What do you guys use for your cameras? I am using a Canon Elph SD 550 right now. I love my point and shoot, but I would love to get an SLR for the variety.

you should definately try it...be warned it is addicting though. My husband has to pry my laptop out of my hands when he wants some attention.... If you do start digiscrapping make sure you post your pages here.

Sorry I can't help with this question. I really need to learn how to use a camera better. I have a Cannon Powershot and basically only use it on Auto... I have no idea what most of the other setting are :confused3

Being on this site has given me the impetus to get moving again

This is my page for Typhoon Lagoon which really is one of my favourite places in the world.

I use a Canon Rebel XT, and LOVE it. :) My first digital camera, a point and shoot, was a Minolta (which is now owned by Sony). But if you look at most of the professional photographers out there, it's either Canon or Nikon. Both are equally good and the best advice I had received about choosing btwn. them was to test them out in the store & see which one felt the most comfortable. I had planned to buy a Nikon just based on my research but when I tested in the store, I was much happier with the feel of the Canon.

Chris -- thanks for the ticket stamp -- you rock as always!!!

Great pages guys!! I love looking at all the talent here!

Renysmom- i am gonna go check out your site!

Marypoppinsiam - I am a sony fan myself, so i would say you can't go wrong with a Sony, but i have heard great things about Cannon rebels as well! Sony is somewhat new in the DSLR market.. I believe their first was only out about a yr ago - when i got my new sony (P&S) - it was a few hundred out of my range, lol.. but it looks nice!

Hi:
I just got a Sonny Alpha for Xmas and this my first professional one. I would have like to get the Rebel instead and cheaper than the Alpha.
The salesman told my DH it was a better buy so I'm happy with it, it's somewhat hard to learn since I've use a point and shoot all my life.

MaryPoppins -

Each make of Digital SLR is a bit different. The best advise is to go to the store and start playing with them, research and decide what you want. Also, you will end up wanting to buy more lenses so keep that in mind by looking at prices and what is available on the market. Many choose Canon and Nikon because those are what the pro's use mostly but they may not be the best for you.

I am on my 3rd Olympus and love them. They fit my needs better than either the Canon or the Nikon, although both are great cameras.

You can do alot of research by visiting http://www.dpreview.com/ they have lots of reviews and comparisions.

Thanks for the info. I did go to the store to test them out and now after doing that I am still confused on which one. I love the Rebel XTi and it is only $100 more than the Sony, and the lens for the Canon are cheaper. But now I think I should look at Nikon too. Gee why does it have to be so hard to choose??

Caitsmamma - I have a question for you (or anyone who can answer)

I remember you had posted that you are on a designer's creative team and I keep seeing siggies in posts on some of the Digital Sites I am starting to frequent from people who are on Creative Teams which is making me curious...

What exactly is a Creative Team Member? What do you do?

A CT member basically helps the designer sell their kits by creating layouts using their kits (exclusively on a layout). You then have to post on several different forums and credit the designer. Some CTs do more like help give input on kits and themes others don't, depends on the designer/CT member. If you peruse designer blogs you will see CT calls occasionally, they are also posted at various major forums as well. Most CTs have a duration, like 3 months or so forth and then the designer gets a new CT, others just keep their CTs and replace/add as needed.

In return for your service, you receive free kits from the designer. Different designers have different layout requirements, some are 3 per month, others more. They will state their exact requirements on the call.

I have yet to apply for any, but I am considering it as I have seen a couple recently.

Yes, exactly what Fran said.. Currently, i am on 4 CT's. With one ending at the end of june. Some teams/designers require lots more work than others.. One team i am on in particular (a store team) requires minimum of :
1 layout a week from the designer they assign you to
gallery praise
posting in the forums
hosting a challenge/or crop
etc.... That team is my most demanding.. but it's still not too bad.

Others i work with only come out with new stuff maybe once a month, mabye twice.. so there isn't as much involved. They all really want you to "pimp them" and use their stuff.

It's fun, and i have applied for another that i really want.. but i have also had rejection by some great teams too, which really stinks.. LOL But, i just keep applying when i see some i really like.
However, i have also had to let one designer go so far -- simply b/c my tastes/style has changed and i found it hard to work with her stuff.. Things happen.

But, all in all, it is a great expierence, and you should go for it!!

Wow, this is the first time I've heard of Creative Teams. This sounds like something I would really love to look into - where would I go to find out more and to apply?

You can pm me if you'd like. Thanks! :goodvibes
