Digital Images at Disneyland

HI! I'm new to this board but have a question. We're going to Disneyland in Feb. and my dh just surprised me with a digital camera for Christmas. The memory card, however, only holds about 70 pictures. And at $70 per card, that's a pretty expensive way to take pics at the parks.

My question is this: I know they offer film developing in the parks, but do they offer digital developing? I'd like to download my pictures at the end of the day to free up memory on my card and just use the now-empty card the next day.

I've never gone digital before so this is all new to me. I wont be printing pictures at home since we have a lousy printer, so I"d be either uploading them to ofoto/snapfish types of places, or bringing them to a local place where i can just insert my memory card. Can I do that in Disney as well?

Thanks!
Patti

I don't know if they do that at DLR, but here are some other considerations - we've had our Digital camera for over 2 years and here are some ways we work with it:

(1) Target and Wal-Mart have on-site digital services. See if there are any near the park or where you will be. Their prices, I believe, are now $0.29 each. Buy the photos on disk, too -- so you can make copies for friends/family later.

(2) Bring a laptop and transfer all of your pictures to the laptop and/or DVD/CD.

(3) We took two 256k cards one year for NYE and filled them both up. I don't know what kind of card you have, but you can buy some of them really inexpensively at Costco or Buy.com.

(4) At the end of every day, go through all of the pictures you have on your card and delete the ones that didn't work. It's better to do this at the end of the day so you don't drain the battery during the day (and risk missing a shot of something you really want.)

Another tip... if you have a rechargeable battery, you might consider buying a second one so you have two (2) ready to go every day (just charge them at the end of the day each night.) Nothing is more frustrating than seeing a perfect picture before you and not being able to capture it because either you don't have enough space on the card or juice in the battery.

Digital cameras are a bunch of fun - we love OFOTO and use it every year to make calendars for the whole family as Christmas presents. I hope you enjoy yours as much as our family has!

Thanks so much for your suggestions. My dh acctually suggested bringing the laptop. I would have thought it would be too much trouble, but it was HIS idea. :)

I'm going to have to check the prices at BJ's (our version of Costco) to see what they offer. I really like this camera and I dont' really want to switch to the Sony, simply because I love my Canon Rebel SLR so I'm sure the digital version will be just as nice.

I hadn't thought of warehouse clubs. That's a great idea. Thank you. I think I'll take a ride there tomorrow. :)
