Digital Frame Suggestion

I'm looking for a digital frame for my MIL. I want one roughly equivalent to a 5x7 photo. I don't want one that updates over the Internet (I'm not looking for something I need to support). I'd like to just stick my photos on an SD/CF card, put that in the frame, and have it ready to go. Then, each year I'll send an updated card.

Any suggestions?

I just bought my MIL and FIL a Kodak Easy Share SV811 for $150. It is 8" but the viewing area is approx 4"x7". It is quite nice. Seems easy to use and the colors are pretty good overall. It also (for some reason) plays mpgs and mp3's. Overall, I am pleased with it although I wish they all weren't so cheaply made. It is all plastic (like most) but it looks nicer than most of the ones I looked at. Also, for ease of use, it has 128 MB built in memory and can accept CF, SD, Ms, XD and MMC cards. Here is a bad pic of it. The flash made that red blotch as I had my hand over it a bit to keep it from shining off the frame too much. Also, the red thing in the top right is just a tab for the protective piece of plastic that it is packaged with. It peels right off.

I bought an 8" several months ago. I don't recall the real brand name, but I know it's made by Audiovox. It was one of those special member deals on the American Express site. It's pretty decent quality with interchangable wood grain, black, and white frames (all plastic of course) and comes with a remote control. My biggest complaint is the slow, slow, slow speed at which it switches from photo to photo when you're manually advancing them. Maybe they're all like that, but I finally resorted to getting a smaller capacity SD card just for the photo frame and I load the photos I want on it with my PC. No more taking my 2GB SD card right out of the camera and sticking it into the frame. That's painful!

Costco has a 10" frame made by Pandigital that looks really nice and has a really good display. The price tag is a little high, though - $220. It's got a few extra bells and whistles, like being able to set an alarm on it to wake you up to your favorite MP3. I know they have smaller sized ones in the store for around $160, I think. I was quite impressed with the display quality, just thought the price was a little high. Also saw a few different kinds at Wal-Mart recently, but can't comment on the quality.

I bought a Kodak one, 8" and it looks like AndrewWG's.
It was about $150 in Staples and Best Buys...but... I got mine at a local Flea Market, brand "new", for $50. !! :cool1:
