So. I have an eBay auction, Buy It Now OBO at £33 for an old but nice cel phone, delivered. They typically go for about £40. But that's by the by. This cheeky eBayer has been swamping me with offers averaging out at £2. Cheeky wotsit. I wish there was a way to eMail such people a digital slap around the face with a damp trout.

I sell on eBay and 100% ignore offers like that. They're not worth responding to.
After the first £1 bid, I sent a counter offer of £28 - bargain. They came back with £2. I just declined. Then came £2… again. Didn't even bother to reply. Some idiot thinking they are having "fun".

Now, see, if I were interested, I probably would have made a best offer bid of 28, thinking with a spread of five we would meet in the middle at 30-31. Anything less than that, unless the item is broken and complete garbage, is just rude. Negotiating is fine, but it’s important to keep it realistic.

Or some idiot thinking another idiot is trying to get rid of something. ;)

I mean, you did say "OBO", right? So that's they're best offer. Feel free to ignore it, but they're doing nothing wrong.

I wouldn't have replied to the first offer. You're not under any obligation to respond to people's offers.

I haven't sold on eBay in quite a while, but I thought there was an option in the Best Offer section that automatically rejects anything under a specified price. Or is it, automatically accepts over a certain price? Maybe both?
