Digital DVC Member Card Wrong Year?

Just checking out the new perks for the 25th year and when I went to look at my card, it is showing the wrong Member Since year. Anyone else showing incorrectly? The one I have in my possession that was sent a few months ago shows the correct year.

Mine is showing the correct year. So for yours, it is showing a date far too early for your membership? If so, and assuming you purchased resale, perhaps the date shown ties back to the original sale date of your contract?

Direct from Disney in 2015 but the year shows 2014.

Both of our UY's are incorrect too and don't match what our current cards say.

It's digital although you are apparently able to print it out. I went under the news about the 25th Anniversary and there is a link where it talks about the new digital card.

Yes, we're 1999 but it says 1998. Our first contact with a guide and our tour was 1998, but the actual purchase was January of 1999.

I just got off of chat to find out. They said that because my use year is December that the purchase back dates because we got the full 2014 points? So my May 2015 purchase makes me a 2014 member. Does that really make sense? Find it weird that my physical (old) card says 2015

If you got 2014 points I guess it makes sense. You were a member for the 2014 use year. If they've redefined membership year to include your first use year that would align for us. We purchased in early 1999 but did get 1998 points.

Mine both say 2010 and neither of those is correct so I don't know what the explanation is there. I'm sure we bought some points in 2010 but they weren't our first nor our last.

Ours correctly shows 2007. We purchased AKV pre-opening, so no prior years points.

I just got my member letter on my first DVC purchase this past Saturday, and my digital membership card says that I'm a member since 2005.

In the past if you purchased resale, your card would show the original-from-Disney purchaser's purchase year as first year. It appears the change being made is that any original purchase year is being tracked back to actual first use year, i.e., if purchaser from Disney got a December use year with points starting in 1996, but purchased in March 1997, your card will now show 1996 instead of 1997 start year.

Mine says 2010 which makes sense since we got 2010 points even though we bought in 2011.

So now I'm getting even more curious on why our dates are wrong nor do they make any sense. It doesn't really mean anything but if they're going thru the bother of putting them on it would be nice if they were correct. Or at least if they were the same dates as our current cards - one which probably dates back to the original purchase but we bought resale earlier than the date on the digital card.

How is DVC going to prevent counterfeiting of the digital DVC membership cards? Could not some enterprising individual sell phony membership cards on the internet?

Mine says 2005. That is the year I purchased and I did get 2004 pts.
