digital cameras

I know there was a thread a couple weeks ago regarding digital cameras, but with search being disabled, I'm unable to look it up. Thinking of buying one -- not looking for the top of the line but we would certainly not want to need to replace it soon either. Does anyone have any suggestions??

Cindy, I think that a 2 or a 3 MP camera with optical zoom is good to start with. You can get a good one like that for about $200. I know I am not getting very specific, but it's a good place to start. My think is I think you need to play with a camera to see which you like best. If you have a Consumer's Report, that is a good place to start too.
