I bought the Sony cybershot 14 mp about a month ago and love it much more than I thought I would - it was on sale for 100 buks at Target and I can't believe how great the pics and videos are
I also picked up a Sony Cybershot on Blue-on clearance at SAMs for $87, reg price was $160ish. it was the DSC 330 something. I love how it tells you the format it is shooting, like twilght, zooms on the faces, blocks the subject...like a mini computer framing the shots.
The price was right to get me through and it does the job, on sale at Target now for $119.00 $30 off. It is
so slim, fits anywhere, the battery last forever, the spare if you want is about $19. or less,
But would have loved to add the Lumix.
If I were going to choose one for my personal all around camera I would choose Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH20R 14.1MP Digital Camera with 8x Optical Zoom - Red Target has 8 x zoom, child, pet, sunset, etc.
My son has a Lumix and it is fantastic. I can not say enough for the wide array of needs it meets in the family photo's. trips, and photo for fun.

I have my work horse a Canon also, but really needed something 14mg, and great low light for work until I could afford to replace my work horse.
The only thing the PnS, it is missing is the zoom of X21 or better in my work horse, the point and shoot is a 4x. This is nice for its needs. but work wise I am not climbing up onto a ladder to document damage, and need the zoom.
