Looking for a digital camera for teenage DD, there are sooo many choices! Can anyone recommend a great camera at a great price - would like to stay approx in the range of 100-200 dollars.

Our family owned several brands through the years, but after getting our first Canon, we choose them every time now.

I also am looking for a camera but i want a smaller one that will fit in my purse? anyone know of any great deals out there.

I don't think it'll be difficult to find a decent digital in that price range. Personally for a teenager, I would keep in reasonably inexpensive and also point and shoot, easy. Electronics change very quickly and camera prices have dropped off a lot in the last few years. I have a Panasonic Lumix and it takes good pictures. I bought my college son a touchscreen Nikon (the one Ashton Kutcher did commercials for last xmas) and both the Nikon and the Panasonic are now in that price range now.

ETA: Wow, the Nikon I bought my son last year was $249 and it is $139 at Amazon now.

I LOVE my canons. I bought my first one 5 years ago. I'm getting our daughter a canon on amazon...no tax...free shipping. can't beat it.

I have a Cannon also that I really do like! But, it doesn't have the 15x zoom! :rotfl: So, I did place the order!:rotfl:

Not a put in your pocket sized camera, but I LOVE my Fujifilm FinePix S1800. It takes AWESOME pics.

I also have a Canon PowerShot A590 that I keep in my purse and it's a great camera for unplanned photo moments.

Though they are not known for cameras the way Cannon or Kodak or Sony are, the Panasonic LUMIX cameras are amazing!

The lenses are phenomenal and there is a great "burst" mode. I find myself reaching for my little beauty again and again! The battery is a rechargeable wall battery that lasts me an entire 14 hour Disney Day, LOL :rotfl2:.

I got mine on Amazon after reading reviews for 20 different cameras, and I've never been happier -- thanks to a tip from an SLR friend who knew my needs.

Have you taken night parade or Fantasmic type pictures with it? I have a SLR but hate lugging it around all day for night time pictures.

I just ordered a Canon SD14001S on Amazon for $149.99 with free shipping. Same as Best Buy's BF price. I love my Canon Powershot G9, but it's a bit heavy to carry all the time. I'll keep the smaller one in my purse for those surprise photo ops.

The 1400is and 1300is are both great and available at that price year round. I own both...

I DID IT! Bought the one from HSN, in white, with the flex pays!

I just bought this one for my dd 16's bday. It just came out recently and it is a great sale price. My dd is all about wanting the smallest camera there is lol. It is 14mp and 5x optical zoom. It does use a micro sd card though. What I like about it is it comes with a charger and battery instead of double A . Has a lot of great scene modes as well.
