Difficulty getting GV at OKW

Can anybody tell me how difficult it is to get a GV at OKW less than 11 months out? We're planning a June 2007 trip.

The best option would be to find an OKW owner to make the reservation for you. Having said that, OKW has the most GV's of any resort; so, I'd say your chances may be quite good (depending on number of nights and specfic dates, of course).

Good luck and don't overlook the marvels of the waitlist.

You will have to call and see. However, I was able to get a GV at 7 months for March and I didn't call day by day either.

OKW has some of the lowest occupancy rates of any DVC resort. There is a chance you'll get it in June. I would call day by day or see if you can find an OKW owner to book for you at 11 months. Rooms almost always available here.

As with any "what are my chances" question, the real answer can only be provided by MS when you call to make the reservation.

In the case of GVs at OKW, there are a total of 27 at the resort. There are times when there will be availability within 7 months and times when nothing is available. Sometimes it is dependent on someone cancelling at the last moment to create the availability. You should have no problem reserving a GV at OKW 11 months ahead.

As suggested, if you can, have an OKW owner make the reservation for you 11 months ahead or find an owner to transfer the OKW points into your account so you can make the reservation yourself at 11 months using those points.

The good thing is that we are DVC owners! I just have to keep my fingers crossed for 11 mos. out!

A group of us were able to secure one for May 2006 just last week - call, it can happen at any time.

I haven't had a problem booking a GV at 11 months, although it gets iffy at 7 months. At Christmas you will have some difficulty booking a GV, so that's the one time of year I would book day-by-day. I'm booking a GV for Christmas 2006, so don't go to Disney then! ( I am trying to discourage any competition for the GV's)
