Difficult time getting my 3 separate reservations merged

I’m waiting on my May quick trip to be merged at SSR….called a couple weeks ago and was told it would take no more than 7 days. Kept checking and called back when it didn’t happen. The CM I got on the phone said it wasn’t requested, so started a new request. It’s a last minute trip that I pieced together by stalking religiously while keeping it secret from the kids. If it doesn’t happen can the front desk work some magic at checkin so we aren’t moving? It’s the same contract and room category, but the thought of moving everything daily with three kids solo is beyond my idea of a magical trip.

I think they are just way behind. I was told 5-7 days a week and a half ago (going the end of April) and on day 8 this week I had to call about something else and they noticed they needed merging and did it at the same time. I mentioned I had already requested it and they said they will just skip it when they get to it. If it gets near the end of the month, I would keep calling then.

Thanks for the reply! The first CM mentioned something about it being within 10 days and they would do it immediately but if it was more than 30 it goes in the pile to be done.

same here

Also on day 7 for my merge as well ... so waiting patiently as well ...

I had put in a request to merge some reservations for May via chat on 3/29. I just got the email with the merged dates. So, 11 days from when I put in the request.

I had to wait a longer time as usual as well. When I inquired, they replied the wait could be up to two weeks. I guess that to respect the SLAs, rather than hiring more people, they increase the time on those SLAs.

My two reservations were merged 10-days after calling Member Services. Never received an email indicating that it was complete.

I have a renter who is booked for 6 nights at the same resort in the same room type with 2 reservations, one for 4 nights, one for 2 nights. there are 2 different memberships (I am on both) as I didn't have enough points to cover all 6 nights from a single membership. I called member services and they couldn't guarantee the same room for all 6 nights. I am perplexed and angry that Disney may make them check out and change rooms!!!

Chances are pretty good that they won't have to move. The resort doesn't want to have to do a full cleaning in between the two reservations if they don't have to. But the CMs have to cover themselves and DVC by telling you that it isn't guaranteed. This has always been the case when you have two continuing reservations that use different memberships.

yes I understand that they should be able to stay but I don't understand why the CM has to qualify this. I can't fathom ANY scenario where their vacation couldn't seamlessly continue across both reservations...

There was a report over the summer (or maybe December) that somebody lost their reservation when the CM messed up merging a stay at BCV. Now, luckily that guest was able to stalk and get it back……

ETA: I think I completely misunderstood your post, but the above did happen and probably was a direct reason that merging takes so long now….

Because they are different reservation, they can not promise you that they can put you in the same room.

That is why they require us to call and have them linked with the other reservation number so the room assigner can try to keep them in the same room.

Again, CMs at MS are not the room assigners and they do try to keep people in the same room...we have never not been…but something could happen and they want people to know there is a chance.

Be sure your renters are aware and that they should check at the front desk when they arrive because if they are slated for two different rooms, that would be the time for them to try and fix.

Unfortunately, it’s one of the drawbacks of having two UYs…without a transfer, you have to book this way.

thanks, have already told them this AND I was going to call the front desk on their arrival day but I found out that all calls to the front desk are now routed centrally---YIKES

Yeah. I do this all the time and we never had to move so I think it will be fine.

If i understand correctly you had to waitlist or something and have three separate reservations, and want to stay in the same room….

if I understand correctly, then that is a back of the house function that they do about 14 days prior to check in…

i have done it half a dozen times,
call the front desk to confirm That they can do it.

you technically still check in and out, and have to redo the keys but you dont need to leave the room…. IIRC
