forgive me if this is an overdone subject, but I found nothing with a search. We are thinking of adding on through resale, but not finding much with the same use year as our current contract. How much of a pain is it to have 2 use years (March and Oct). We would use TTS again. Would they help find what we are looking for with the same use year? Thanks in advance.

Having different UY's requires separate membership numbers. We find having more than one UY to be a real pain. Double the work and twice the potential for mistakes.

It is easier to manage multiple contracts if they have the same use year, but many here own contracts with different use years and successfully manage them. :)

Expect to spend more time and effort on managing your contracts if you have more than one use year. There are advantages to multiple use years, but there are also disadvantages. For example, you cannot combine points from contracts with different use years without doing a transfer. Members are limited to one transfer per use year per contract, so a transfer between contracts will use the allotment for both contracts for that use year. If you don't plan ahead and pay attention, you may end up losing points.

If you want to add on directly through Disney, you must purchase the same use year as your Master contract unless you buy the minimum for a new contract and insist on a different use year.

With incentives and no closing costs, buying small add on contracts directly through Disney can be a better deal than buying resale. Do the math. :)

I am very sure that the TTS will help you find a resale contract that meets your needs. They are very good at what they do. :)

We have two use years w/two contracts and it is somewhat of a pain, but not impossible. Once you get used to the different use years, it's really not that bad. We simply check our points on a regular basis and keep e-mails from DVC when we bank points so I have back-up.

It's really not that bad. Good luck.

It can be a plus if you travel at different times of the year. Then you can use points for your ressies that would still be bankable should you ever need to change or cancel a reservation.

We have two and I don't find it difficult.

We have 3 contracts, all with March use year. We want one more contract, and were considering an Oct use year, for holiday stays. When we were looking for March contracts, I simply called Jaki/**** at **********.com, and told them what resort, and how many points I was looking for. They found me the perfect March use year contract each time.
