Different Use Years Purchase ??

We own at OKW now for 210 points and looking to add on about 90 points The only problem is there is one available with a different use year. Do people own points from different use years? How does it work when booking a reservation? Also, can you transfer from one to the other? I am torn whether I should purchase 2 different use years

We own OKW with December use year and BCV with February use year. We use the software programs available to manage the contracts, reservations, borrowing and banking. Real easy to manage.

When we call MS we work with one contract at a time. THey can tell that we have two contracts so we must be linked somehow in their system. Never had a problem with making reservations or working with both contracts on same call.

I don't know about using both contracts for one reservation or transferring between the two. Not something I have needed.

We have two use years and as JimC says MS prefers to deal with one contract at a time. They would rather you book from each contract in whole night increments. But we have had absolutely no problem in booking some nights with points from one contract and some with points from the second in one linked reservation. We usually end up banking or borrowing a small number of points from each contract
to use "whole" nights. I think if you ever needed every point from each contract - like if you had one "fractional" night in each contract and needed to combine them for one more night - you could transfer the points from one contract to the other.

Where can I obtain the software program you use?

When you book with both contracts, do they link the reservations? If so, do you have to check out and then check back in or it is a continous stay with two reservations?

It seems to be rather easy to do, the only thing is keeping track of the points and banking dates

I don't know about resales, but our Disney guide told us recently that when you buy through Disney, you can only buy a different use year if you buy 150 points or more. For add-ons less than that, he said you have to keep the same use year...

Hi Mickey,
We have two use years, at BWV, one the same use year at OKW as one of the BWV UY. We have 2 seperate member numbers, the
different uy makes the different member number. We don't find it too difficult to manage,it just gets a little creative when you are booking ,you may have to borrow,or bank once in a while to make the ressies as you need them. Here is a great program by Bill Neth (Caskbill). Easy to use and lots of info. Thanks again Bill for all your hard work.
